I know the title was kind vague, but its hard to describe in one line. I am making this game where you jump really high up, then fall back down, and collect these things as you go. There are platforms that move left and right, and are scattered every few screens or so upward. You have to use these platforms to get higher, where you can get more points. I want to have it so there is this arrow that appears near your character when you are getting close to one of those platforms. I would also like the arrow to look in thier direction so it can point out where they are for you, so its not so difficult to land on them. So far i have it so it will point at the platform, as long as there is only one in the entire frame...but i need many since it goes up REALLY high. Also, i cant figure out how to make it appear only when you are near (about one screen) the platforms. Please help a newbie out! Thank you so much, i hope this was detailed enough, but not overly so.

PS: I am also having trouble with the floating platforms, i have another post about that right under this one.

Use an extension or a formula to detect which platform is the closest, then get the arrow to look in the direction of it.

Use a formula (distance formula- square root of (x2-x1)²+(y2-1)²)

Compare two general values.
