I have got 3 2D (click) games on the go and I'm totally fed up of most them. So im asking the DC people what they think I should carry on with:
Crude Dude:
My first plat game since my newbie days. Started on the day before Circys birthday on his birthday competition. Basically a cop who's undercover mission goes awry.
Features:
**Current Game Features**
Custom Platform Engine, ladders perfected as well as the engine.
Custom Programmed bullet trajectory and reticule for more accuracy.
3D rendered backgrounds, sprites are done by hand.
Ability to shoot behind you while running (well any direction but it looks nice )
Music and Sounds by me and Shpling.
Particle effects and bullet marks.
Good CPU AI, they jump over obstacles and I'm planning ladder climbing ability.
I'm really enthusiastic for once about this one, I'm adding slow mo and diving
Large piccies probably take yonks to load.
Fortold:
This was meant to be the biggie, the game of God. The intro went together so nice. I programmed most of it as a alpha version of the game with the customery 32 x 32 multicoloured squares and then got bored when it came to graphics. You have an animal, spells (not smells), and control. Like populous and black and white merged.
This would take so much graphics and sprites to complete it, it would take forever.
I'm too ashamed of the alpha version in-game I wont show you
Super Lander:
I made this because I thought Gravitorb 2 was too fast. I remember the true arcade version being a slow and precise affair (don't think im cussing the game I think its good)
Game Features:
3d rendered explosions and objects
Custom engine
Boat loads of particles YAY!
Level Editor
Gravity creators, create gravity in any direction
Im seriously bored of this one. I just don't have the time for it. Enemy ships etc need to be added, a nice user gui for the level editor needs to be done as well. But its more of a possible than Fortold.
Blah, I personaly like the mixed gfx look, but not to much. Dont wanna have 3D moving objects with a really 2d looking guy, but it wasnt SUPER 3d, its just rendered a little.
We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams...
Assault Andy Administrator
I make other people create vaporware
"If Darl McBride was in charge, he'd probably make marriage unconstitutional too, since clearly it de-emphasizes the commercial nature of normal human interaction, and probably is a major impediment to the commercial growth of prostitution."

(Darl McBride is CEO of The SCO Group)
this place sucks but don't tell anyone, it's our little secret, ok?
Hmm the resembelence is mereley a coincidence, lol.
I think I’m gonna carry with Crude Dude then, I want to make the first level (not the one shown) and then I’ll release a beta.
Getting the bloody slo mo to work on a custom movement is a pain in the you know what. I want a smooth transition. I could easily have two groups of the engine one normal and one slow, but that will look naff. So im doing a counter based time system. Still got to to test it though.
I’m using an 8 year old version of Truespace Rycon, so I guess the old renderings are starting to show the age of what they was made in . (cant even do nurbs *crys*)
Um, I can't really decide. But I think that you shouldn't really put so many bumps on the background graphics . Makes em stand out too much and it's harder to seperate the front graphics from the back ones. Or at least blur the backgrounds a bit... the player's focus is on the main chars, making the background a bit blurry, which really gives it more of a 3D feel.
