i'm sure it's got something to do with the electromagnetic flux of the ionic subparticles...

surely its because the red and green triangles have been moved, thus meaning there is less space under the red triange so the yellow+green shapes cant fit together?

i dont see the problem... am i stupid?

The reason for it is because the triangles are not similar. The green one has angles of 21.8, 68.2, and 90. The red triangle has angles of 20.5, 69.5, and 90. Since the hypotonous of what appears to be the large triangle is not a strait line, this means that the area of the "big triangle" gets larger when the portions of the "hypotonous" are switched, leaving space when the remaining area is filled in using the orange and light green pieces from the smaller "big triangle".

The big triangles topline don't have the same degrees,
thus making space for one little block.

oh I know why.. hehe.. its cuz of the green and yellow areas.. on the top triangle they both for a 3 x 5 square.. and bellow they form a 2 x 8 square.. so.. the area is diferent.. 3x5 = 15 little squares.. and 2x8 = 16 little squares.. so it has more little square than it needs, thats why its painted white

its that both triangles are formed with the same shapes..
but as I said before the light green and yellow shapes form different areas (together) as they are displeyed on the diferent triangles =P

I tried this with Dairylea triangles, but the cheese kept sticking to me. I tried this and I did indeed get a hole, though that may be because I was feeling peckish at the time.
