I wanna make a trailer where you the player gets to see me play the game, you like um.. those professionals do... but how do I do it? I know it's been done with ED, so it's possible in the klik community.
And I know I could try to prest Print Screen on each frame, but I'd prefer not to .

There are many programs to do this with. Programs that capture something on the screen and save it as an .avi. One of these programs is called CamStudio and was made by a company called Rendersoft (search the net to get it). A good idea is to get some video editing software so you could put lots of different movie bits together, add some text, music etc.
Feel free to ask me about anything here, or somewhere else
Sounds cool, but it seems that CamStudio ain't available at the moment. Oh well, guess I gotta wait :|.

Ive downloaded this CamStudio thing and it was pretty good but Im not completely satisfied with the frame rate! Everything feels a bit slower when its recordning. The reason might be my computer, it sucks quiet a lot. Well well, however, its enough to make a trailer.
But I must have more levels before I can do a good trailer
As far as I remember, the speed has a lot to do with which codec you use. You should not use any codec when recording (ie. uncompressed). Like, i'd do it like this:
1- record bits of different levels from my game
2- put them together in a videoediting software and add some music and notcies
3- encode the whole thing >in the video editing< program, preferably using DivX, or Xvid.
The reason that you shouldn't encode at first is that you use more Cpu power because your computer has to think about both recording and encoding at the same time. If you don't encode to begin with, it only has 1 thing to worry about.
Another thing you could do is reduce the size of the area you record from.
Edit: Well I suppose if you print screen loads of times. I might try and make it SC, thanx
Edit edit: Erm, how would you do it, i mean, would you somehow make a video by joining screencaptures?
Oh, right. LOL. Code my program to do it. I was just about to wonder if an AVI clip would be too big to effectively upload. Hmm... MMF would actually take the problem outta putting little subtitles and sound effects.

Yep, this is the princible behind my/Dan's stick figure animation shop. Take a screenshot everyframe, and save it as a file. Then use a loop and play through all the pictures one by one. Only prob is screen capture only saves as bmps, so it takes alot of room.
Clickteam used to have a program on their site (which you can still download for free) called Video For DOS which you can use to create AVI and FLICK files from images, which is what you could use to turn your images, captured by an MMF app, into an animation.
It's quite an easy program to use, and you can easily hide the output so you dont get the "VFW" stuff displaying, so it looks like you somehow got your own app to do it rather than relying on another program Though that might be against the law, you'll have to read the freeware license. Though I'm pretty sure you can use it however you want for non-commercial use.

There's also a proggy called Bink (and smacker) that does the same thing. That's what was used to compile the videos for Warcraft II, Starcraft and Warcraft III (prorbably other blizzard games too). I've always like this a lot.
