Yes its me asking help again mods again.
I know mods are not a simple thing to convert too, they need a lot of work. But even if its hard is it possible to make an mp3 come a mod or the tune contained in the mp3 to come a mod with nothing changed? i have about 8 mp3s for my game and it adds up to about 9 megabyte, plus my game 5 megabyte = 14 megabyte, no-no.
If the tune became a mod a 1.00 megabyte tune could come about 0.20 megabyte (i belive so).
Anyway, is it possible?
If so and someone is an expert with this could you convert my mp3 to mod or whatever happens. (i send them by giving to a link for the winzip file)
Long answer: Technically it's possible to convert MP3 directly to MOD, but the file size increase is so large that it's just pointless to do so.
The best way, really, is to convert it by ear - that is, construct a MOD manually that imitates the MP3. That'll change the sound of it, of course - it's difficult to get away from the "electronic" sound of MOD, so some genres are more suited to it than others, but it can be done with some work.
yeah, your the music expert.
ok new question. what other music can TGF play incept for mod, mp3, wave and midi.
If i can convert my mp3 to a new music file type which sounds the sound, file size smaller and can be played on TGF. Is that possible?
TGF can play anything your extentions allow, mp3 is the best really... the only alternative is to lower the quality... which is something you may want to consider!
Unfortunately there aren't any extensions to play OGG, which is generally about 40-50% of the size of MP3. The only way you can get filesize down is by making a module by ear, as WCB said, or reduce the quality of the MP3 - you might want to try VBR encoding methods, which should keep size down but quality the same.
