I have heard alot of talk about thew default movements used in TGF amd MMF. All of it bad. I would like to know the disadvantages of using them.
I have always used the built in movement, instead of coding my own, and have had basically no problems with it.
So whats wrong with it?

I'll use platform cos if time constraints:
You can't double jump, fly, or anything.
Can't swim.
It has clipping bugs.
It zooms backwards when you turn.
The ladder movement is buggy.
It can't fire correvtly by itself.
etc.

there isnt much room for custimization.
but the biggest problem is that with every collision the speed is set to 0 even when in mid air
another little niggle is that if the character headbuts the bottom of an obstacle and jump is held they will stick.

MMF has a very useful platform movement extension that has none of those bugs. So you may want to try that.
99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.

If your monkey guy falls off an edge, he can survive by his tail overlapping the side

thats why you should make it do the movement to another object with no wierd edges, and set the guy to the position of the object

Joe - It's still gay.
When you jump next to a wall, even when you can jump higher than it. You can't move while you are in the air. And Damn straight - No customization.

Also you can wall jump if you don't take the proper precautions... and having detectors will still screw up with ladders. Just use the new extension or make one of your own (preferably with FastLoop... timer-based movements are not good).
