How would you add sounds to cars. so that it sound as if it was speeding up and slowing down at the right times.

you'd use some sound extension that can change the pitch of a sound effect

I wished that existed or, if it exists, that I could find it.
Something else you could try is to have several car sounds and compare the speed of the car to play one of them (even though it wouldn't sound as good as changing the frequency).

You need 3 or 4 differnet pitch looping car noises. Eg: speed = less than 25 play pitch 1, less than 50 play pitch 2, less than 75 play pitch 3 less then 100 play pitch 4. Easy!
