Actualy, I did. Student edition cost me $485. Granted, the only reason I shelled out cash for it was cuz I couldn't find a pirate version that worked . . .
My friend has a pirated version (Shhh don't tell anyone it's a secret) but my computer won't run it so that ends that. If you want to make really simple but really shonky 3D gfx, I recommend Nendo...
"Nendo : If you were a 3D imaging program it would download you"
Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.
Hey, you guys tried Maya, it's Much Better than 3dstudio max but is also much much more complicated... You wanna know what software created Final Fantasy Spirits Within... This is it. Also if you want a 3d gfx program for very good terrain generation (and some small time modelling) try Corel Bryce. If you need a software that is capable of some physics and a game engine and free, try Blender. Oh, also tri lightwave 3d it is also cool...
Oh be quiet, I live in the philippines so i have a great access to many of these Cd's... pirated for only 3 dollars a piece... too bad MMF ain't popular in the philippines so i had to get workin for almost a year to buy that thing
Actually Final Fantasy was a combination of Maya, Softimage and Lightwave sooh!
Maya is only good for 1 thing
Animating
Max/Softimages is the best for modelling/texturing
and Final
Lightwave is the best for rendering
I use all since i cant find any program which fullfills all i need!
