Okay, I need some advice...
I know that none of my games so far aren't the greatest things. I would like to know how to promote my games, and make them so everyone likes them . What am I doing wrong? :\

The problem is that you can't make everyone like your game. There's always someone that'll hate a game. To make it better though, here's some tips:

-Come up with a clever title that will hypnotize people into downloading it
-Use an original design for the game.
-Don't use built in movements(except computer controlled ones; they're useful for AI.)
-Use original gfx
-create an attractive title screen.
-If you're not using your own music for the game, try to use music that not everyone recognizes(unless it fits very well in your game.)
-Don't leave places where players can get hopelessly stuck.
-If your game is a platformer or adventure game, include various enemies to make the game feel more alive(I once had to abandon one game because there simply weren't any living death factors)
-Use scenery to give your level a uniqeness.

that's all I can think of from my experience.

Get more experience making better games, usually by sucking at first, and then slowly working your way to the upper echlon. Fill your harddrive with crap games that you made while trying to figure something out. Las time I check my TGF Games folder was pushing 65 megs, with only a couple being anywhere near release quality.

and donīt forget to play your favourite games . and there find out what is good and what sucks.
after playing several games figure out how to implement the good aspects of other games into yours
let yourself be inspired by professionals .
old snes games are a good place to become inspired for example ...

take care that all the stuff around the game also is proper. a simple readme in rtf isnīt this good in most cases. i am using html docs for example. a nice picture explains more than thousand words ...

gamebalance is also an important aspect ...
or fitting graphics .
ripped pixel sprites in front of rendered scenes doesnīt fit ... or rendered sprites in front of handdrawn buildings.
so take care that your graphics source comes from the same person.

or too much colours at once at the screen. makes the player nuts. or too small sprites, or too dark play areas: where the hell is my sprite ,and where the hell is the enemie ...

sound fx is also a very important thing. and choosing a background music that doesnīt leads the player to turn off the music

or the choice of your game you want to create. the players are simply bored when you come up with an new megaman clone . there are thousands around ...

or ...

lots of aspects ... not this easy to create a good game

with one word: make your game so that a player doesnīt want to stop playing once he has started it

i guess the main thing is to make the game fun to play

but you could also make big colourful screenshots for the preview
and a detailed description.

i dont think people have ever put screenshots in their signatures before have they?

I did, and I got yelled at for it. I thought the picture was smaller than it actually was. But that's been disabled for a while now.

Thanks everyone! One of the reasons why I'm asking, by the way, is because I'm planning on re-making my origanal game Elf World, (which was a flop). I've so far reworked the graphics so that they weren't so Wibble-Wacky-Worldish, and I also made a new engine that allows you to swim and stomp enimeies. You can download the origanal on this site. I'll soon have out a test version.
Thanks again for the advice!
