I spent a lot of my clicking time since finishing my last game, messing about with tgf not really starting anything worthwile and spending more time than usual posting here on the tdc forums.
suddenly in the last few weeks ive had a sudden urge to make a sequel to my Lost island dizzy game, which is fine and its coming along lovely.
Then i find a old gam file of a really old game i started called Zap and larry, where both characters use their own unique moves to get to the end of the level. I restarted it despite working on The dizzy game.
Not only that but After playing sonic heroes which i bought recently and playing on sonic adventure 2 battle a little, ive got a sudden urge to make a sonic game too.
I've never had this happen to me in the case you mention it, but I've had a bunch of ideas at once before.
One time, I had several ideas at once: A platformer called Phase Off(abandoned now),KungNeonair(another platformer only with a really wierd plot. I may come back to this one), and Deathwarz(a fighting game originally thought up by a friend of mine).
The bunch-of-ideas-at-once-thing caused me to abandone several games. Luckily, I've grown into the habit of finishing my games before starting a new one.
Hmm... inspiration for an article. I've had that problem LOTS of times. My "Projects" folder has about 20-40 unfinished games. Basically I work on each one till I'm sick of working on it. Then one day, I play some superb game with a great soundtrack (like The Line) and start thinking, "Hey, I want a soundtrack in my game too". And I work on my game again in order to get a lot of fans to get a good soundtrack. Then I get sick of it, and get inspiration from some other good game. It's a vicious, torturing circle.

This happens more often to me than healthy for a human
I got around 10 game ideas lying around, and I doubt if they'll ever be finished
I also got 80 Megs of crap on my HD
OMG... 1.57 GB??? I just got about 70 MB in mine. You store porn/Windows in there? Or does that also include junk you downloaded off the DC? How bout some screenshots of what's in there...
