they don't. in some, the fx do, but the music do not.
in others, they simply don't sound and you have to choose the pc speaker option or no sound.
mmm i think i already know the answer to this, but.... is there aaannny way to make they sound again?? i like the music of corridor 7, of lemmings, etc
i used to have an old laptop to play old games, but, like i said in another post,
it mysterioulsy stopped working

DOS sound crashes my computer. It's disabled for me now. You might try messing around with your bios settings.

The simple answer is ... you probably cannot hear the fx/music.

Why?

Well ... dos is today an ancient OS. Dos games use the soundcard in a SoundBlaster 16 fasion with autoexec.bat containing info on irq, dma etc ressources the soundcard has. Trouble is, newer soundcards (especially soundcards built into the motherboard) do not follow this SB16 method anymore. The simple answer is therefor, new soundcards do not support old dos games anymore. Especially because new computers use IRQ's higher than 11 (often for soundcard) which old dos games do not support. Furthermore the drivers may not support dos or SB16 compatibility ... so ... thats the sad facts.

To get dos sound youre better off with a old SB16/32 or maybe 128 card. Anything newer can be a pain to get to work or may not work at all. It really depends a lot on the dos game too.
