And if you did have a change of heart, thanks, you did the right thing, but you could have told me.
EDIT: "attempting to transmit the personal details of someone without their consent is strongly against "the rule of common sense" active on this site. to be quite frank i thought you were above such an inane level of activity. you are as such banned from the site. i'll be getting your IP banned soon. that is all."
When thats the last message you get, you tend to think that you were banned.

Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Thank you Teapot and Gilgamesh for starting the threads, I feel pretty silly now for not being banned, it wasn't, as it may seem, a big publicity stunt. I am still in the dark about why I am still here.
Sorry to Defenestrator, and Pete, and whoever.
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie: No, they have to share one.

no no you ARE banned, permanantly, what you did was unacceptable. like i said you _will_ be IP banned soon, but i cannot persoanlly do that. until then i'm not deleting your account as people can read through the argument in full.
"Say you're hanging from a huge cliff at the top of mt. everest and a guy comes along and says he'll save you, and proceeds to throw religious pamphlets at you while simultaniously giving a sermon." - Dustin G
Or at least you thought you did. And when you're twelve, what's the difference between thinking you've done something clever and actually doing something clever?
The justice around here is staggeringly swift. I guess the message to gain from this is that if you try to post somebody's personal information on the forums, you will be severely allowed to continue posting just as you did before, until somebody gets around to dealing with you.
Looks like you're the big winner, JP. Care to take a few more cracks at the white pages? I mean, you may as well. Nobody's going to stop you. Or are you going to play nice for awhile to show how you're the good guy in all this?

allow me to resolve all the issues here in this thread:
1) JP is banned because he posted someone's personal details. if anyone disputes this decision, consider if you still would if it was your details being posted.
2) defenestrator has broken no rules. he may have argued forcefully, but he certainly did not fall to JPs level.
3) bitter personal arguments like the one in question shall not be allowed again, and i will personally lock any thread which i see veering towards that direction.
4) whether they were the correct details or not, the point still remains, they could have been, and any post that would compromise a member's anonimity without their permission is grounds for banning on any forum.
5) if you disagree with this decision, that is fine, but the fact remains that this is a privately run website, and if you don't like it you can leave, as opposed to wasting everyone's time mindlessly complaining.
