I know everyone hates ripped sprites, but I want to use them in an application im making. Im looking for sprite sheets to use. So, i have two questions. What is a good site for sprite sheets (good sprite sheets! I want my sprites to have walking animations, ect.) and, if you get a sprite sheet, how the heck do you use it?

P.S. PLEASE don't post just to tell me that ripped graphics are for pervs.

Sprites. They're already converted into MMF format though, so you need MMF.

indeed they are ...
itīs because i am making a friggin prerendered iso looking monsterbig rpg with it

there is also the bitmap section by the way. no real need for mmf 1.5. but extrawork to import all the graphics then.

in fact there are not this much free sources for sprites . no matter if iso or plattformer or topdown or ... . freeware becomes more and more rare stuff. and especially free gamegraphics are very hard to find. thatīs why i started my page eons ago.

a good place may be some rpgmaker/gamemaker homepages . but there you may mainly find ripped stuff in 256 colours . google a bit .

best way is to create your own graphics anyway

cheers

Only way is to cut them out manually. If you're lucky, there's an app that will save each frame as a BMP for you (there was in the days of Blitz Basic on the Amiga).

APP? wazzat? And if the sheet dosent have that, how do I use the sprites in MMF? I mean, I REALLY don't want to manually cut n' paste. I've tried before. It didn't work cuz None of the boxes were the same size? IF I HAVE to manually cut and paste, can I have some tips for doing it right?

mmf simply doesnīt use spritesheets. it works with single bitmaps. and i love this way. i would get mad to create a tileset with 500 single pictures and a tilesize of 96x96

well for cutting out the single tiles . it will always be work to prepare graphics
but take a look into my games section/ applications . there is my tilecutter. a bit limited, but ways faster than using a paint software for this job. maybe useful for you ...

yeah, cut and paste them manually, and do what phizzy said. shrink tool to make the canvas the size of the sprite, and put the hot spot in an specific place in all the frames, like in the eye of the character or something
