These are some small, pixel-drawn portraits of characters from the Three Kingdoms period of China. The game is a turn-based strategy/RPG hybrid in which there are three kingdoms - Wu, Shu, and Wei. The premise of the game is that you play as one of the three kingdoms in an effort to unite China under your dynasty.

This is Sun Jian, the patriarch of the Sun clan. Born to a peasant family, he gains fame by hunting pirates and destroying rebels. He finds the Imperial Seal of the Han trapped in a well while patrolling the capital city and takes it home, planning to begin the Wu dynasty, but is ambushed and killed.

This is Sun Ce, Sun Jian's eldest child. Sun Ce served a local feudal lord before using the Imperial Seal that his dead father had given him to forge the foundations of the Wu dynasty, conquering a vast area while only nineteen years old, earning him the nickname "Little Conqueror." He dies of wounds delivered by assassins attempting to avenge their fallen master, a man Sun Ce killed.

This is Sun Quan, the first Emperor of Wu and Sun Jian's second son. He was handed control of the land by a dying Sun Ce. He went into battle personally, but after several near death encounters, he focused more on internal affairs. He was a fair and just ruler, but his oldest son died, and his other sons fought for control of the empire, which ultimately led to the destruction of Wu.

This is Guan Yu, revered by traditional Chinese culture today almost as a god. He was known for his long, beautiful beard and his red face. He served the empire of Shu and killed many opponents with his legendary Black Dragon sword (which was actually a halberd). He was one of Liu Bei's (the founder of Shu) sworn brothers. After invading Wu, he was attacked and captured and then executed by Sun Quan.

Thanks. They're kinda small, but the game will be in a small resolution. I've got some more done as well.

What res will it be in? Are you going to "Change Res Mode" so that it fills the entire screen? Im just wondering cause I don't like little windows to play games. But its sounds awesome man.
Any screen shots?

I'm still working on what kind of game it'll be. I'm leaning towards a turn-based strategy game, however...

Because GIF's lose colors (in some of these I couldn't get the GIF's to save right), JPG's get all fuzzy, and PNG's are, well, impractical for files this size.

I find when ever I save a gif it adds dots or stuff to the picture which really sucks. JPGs are alright it you don't compress em too much and as for PNGs... when I save a png all I can get a website to do is see black...very word to its mother!
