How would people here at DC think of an online game were you take race courses againced other players, by hosting games on the server for people to join. Then the host, once they feel enough people out of the 10 people are there. They start the game, & the race is on!

Now it may not sound the best, but what if I were to say that the more races you win, the more points you can add to many deffrent area's such as Max Speed, Accel., so on. Not to mention the ability to fire bullets & missles at others.

The only problem I'm seeing, is lag, but if we can keep 56k racers in the 56k server, & DSL/Cable racers in the DSL/Cable racers, racing may not be as laggy.

Nice idea. There would have to be TONNES of extras as in weapons.

You might need to separate racers by stats, too, in order to prevent an MMORPG-like situation where it is almost impossible for n00bs to beat people who have really high stats.

That someone who is making would be me.
I thought of making one, but insted of making a preview, I wanted to see what people would think of the idea in the boards.

Hopefully, if the size isnt large & if I can avoid sending LOADS of infomation at once, the banthwidth wont be as clogged & it will run a little less laggy, but you know, thats just what I think, I'm not to advanced on the lag, dead ric., such. I'm still very new at all this.

You wouldn't have to send much information:
X,Y,rotation,laps(when get across finish line)
Even better, the recieving computer can attempt
to do the rotation by checking where it was
and where it is.

Stats:
We could go for something like Rumble Racing...
You get 20 points on this level and allocate them.
Then on the next you make a different scheme,
keeping the old one, and when you race on either level
it uses that preset of stats. (level as in rookie, pro...)

Or, you order the stats like: "Accel is my fav(6), then
Attack(5)..." and it multiplys them based on the level
you have reached, so it auto allocates. That wouldn't
be as controllable though.

-Above post is ancient and probably irrelevant-

An old account of mine, recently cleared out. It's a blast to the past, the age was marked as 14 when I found it. If you know where to look, you can track me. Au revoir.
