Seems like a pretty vague and general question, but as someone who's always looking for the perfect pallete this is vital. I don't like using two many colours. I also like getting a retro or SNES feel to my sprites or pixel works.

So if you've got a favourite pallete you use, or can recommend somewhere for me to find what Im looking for, it would be very helpful. Cheers.

I don't use little palletes like you do, but I think picking colours from bright and shiny old sega games might be an idea.

ive been doing the same with music. for the SS2 soundtrack i picked a good 10 or so samples and thats all im using. keeps the theme.

as for palettes i usually get my colours from taking a photo of whatever i need. like for a wood texture/tree, i take a picture of my floor. and so on. then just pick a few colours off it and make the graphic... ta da!
