Thinking of piling up all the GOTW's into a CD inorder to donate money to the TDC. I won't steal anything you have your copyrights. Just putting all of the games on a CD and sell them. Who agrees on this idea?

You'll need permission of all the authors of the games before you do this.

I think it's a good idea, but you're not the one to do it, rainbowgear. When I'm sober I'll consider thinking about maybe looking into talking to someone about this, but, ah, does TDC really need any donations? It's not like the giant spider robots are ready to go into production.

A lot of the authors aren't around any more, or some could say no. Furthermore, who here would buy it when all the games are already available for download? I suppose you could target it at a wider audience...

Bah, look at those dickheads a while ago who were selling a bunch of klik freeware on CD. I'm sure we could find enough authors who would say yes to make it worthwhile, and don't forget there's plenty of non-GOTW winners who bloody well deserve it. Better us doing it for a decent cause than somebody else.

I really think it should be the responsibiliy of the admins to administrate such a scheme, not you gokberk, however it is a positive idea that MAY just get a couple of bucks.

However who would pay for games that they can download for free? Especially if the CD would be used as a charity for the DC, hence advertising the DC, hence inviting the buyer to see that everything theyre paying for is free. And ofcourse, no one here would buy it, so why should outsiders? And more importantly: how would outsiders come about the CD?

The idea is obviously flawed, but its nice to see someone trying to do something for the community, even if it is just as spur of the moment idea derived from the trivial idea of running ones own free online store.

im not bothered is some guy is making a few quid of my games. some italian site had TOR on CD once, along with a load of other games (majority were non-klik and none ive heard of before). its pretty cool that somebody is making money though, that i like.

Nice idea, but you'll need all of the game creator's permission (as mentioned above).

It would be a good idea if most of the games were made especially for the cd so the buyer wont find them anywhere else and can't feel ripped off.

of course they might be released later as freeware so i dunno.

Good idea.

But keep in mind, the cd shouldn't cost "weigh too much".

It would be neat to have a nice collection of click games on one cd (which i think should be directly playable) and some nice menu/app from the daily click to play them.

Don't forget to ask permission from the rightful owners.
And make some contact with the admins to ask what they feel about this idea.
