News posted 22nd May, 2003 by ShadowCaster
Have you been going flat out trying to make a game for the DC competition, and cant seem to get anywhere? Fear not, there's more competitions starting up than you can poke a stick at. To save time I'm going to just list the URLs along with what you have to do, and what prizes will be awarded, and you can browse to find out more at your own leisure...

Game remake competition

→ To be decided

So three different competitions to get cracking on... if you enter all three you just might increase your chances of getting some cool free software, but if you dont have the time to enter them all then I suggest working on the DC comp .

Please note that some products are awarded as optional prizes (that is, the winners have a choice of whichthey would prefer) and hence not all of the forementioned prizes will be given away.

I would like to join the game competition. I am making a snowboard game now can that be a sports game? I didn't understand where to submit the game. Are we suppose to zip the "cca" file and send it? Please write a response, thanks

The submit form for the DC competition is not yet available (if you click the "Submit Your Game" link you get a page that says "Submissions will be accepted closer to the deadline.") You do have to zip the CCA file, you can find out more by clicking the "Competition Rules" link.

You dont say what retro remakes are giving away as prizes so i will tell you. Everyone who enters a game(Remake of a classic) into the retro remake competition gets a free copy of dark basic the competition is run by retro remakes and is sponsored by dark basic and the best thing of all is you can use whatever program you want to make a game. It's not limited like the competitions clickteam run which is where there going wrong.

My point and click adventure game has a very cliche plot (on purpose of course so I can make fun of my own plot within the game XD)

In response to "It's not limited like the competitions clickteam run which is where there going wrong."... They are obviously using the games you make as publicity to promote their products- its a very good way, you're happy, they're happy, the new people entering the click community are happy. Besides, if it wasn't for clickteam and their products, you couldn't have submitted a comment to "the Daily CLICK", could you? X)

Spin: DarkBasic arent the only company sponsoring that competition I believe, which is why your not limited to one particular programming application. The official prize list has not yet been announced yet, I'm pretty sure. And Nicholas is right, with our competition everyone gets what they want, including Clickteam. Let's face it, if it wasnt for them we wouldnt be here right now, so it's good to give a bit of support, eh?

Shadowcaster "I think you find DB is the main sponsor. The reason why its multi format is beacuse the site retro remakes which i have been a member of for quite awhile is a multi format site allowing anyone who makes games to join in. as for surposrt i have been surporting clickteam for the last 4 years." Niclolas " I only posted here cos my main community site is down You will find clickteam make there competitons to clickteam users only most of us here have tgf, mmf, they should aim the competition out to multiformat in a hope they can bring more users in of diffrent programs to see how easy it is to make games since there seems to be a slump in sales.
