RTS Extention
News posted 29th October, 2003 by Mitch M
Yes. Another extention. Though this one is really worth to try. The brilliant kid behind Tigerworks, has now released his RTS (real time strategy) extention. This extention was actually only made to improve his own upcomming game: Terminal Orbit. (Which he announced to be done not long from now in the same news item!) At the click convention, where he demo'd Terminal Orbid, he showed us how wonderfull this extention really was. And I must say, I could wait to play with it myself. It really is amazing. Download it here and visit Tigerworks.co.uk for more info and other great stuff. Later..

Finally my rts's attacking engine can be finished :) This is good news that Tigerworks released it to the public. I give all my thanks from everyone who can use this extension to Tigs!

Thank you Tigerworks! I admire you for what you are doing! An RTS game is a VERY difficult task to achieve! Its a BIG challenge and requires lots of knowledge not only about MMF but languages as well C++(ect.) and Tigerworks seems to know very well both and he's only 16(I'm 18 and i don't know...maybe... half of what he knows ;))! What did you use to make the extension?C++? I bet you are going to study "Computer Gaming" and help C&C series producers...;) hehe!

I believe extensions are only being made in VC++4+ non-Microsoft should work, it will just require you to tweak the headers and code a bit... right?

It was written in C++ under MSVC++ 6.

Well, does it really matter who did the ext? You may make your own, with other functions...

E.G you can help by releasing an "ID" engine, where the turrets are placed on the correct tanks etc.

Something on this website that actually seems worth it . . . Well although it sounds great I probably wont download it (I only have TGF and MMF Demo).I prefer to code everything using the least amount of extensions.Well if I ever get to downloading it then hopefully I will post a reply. This was one horrible post :-p

If you try to code this without the extension, you will easily cut 25FPS off your game :) The main advantage of this object is the speed.

More extensions making it easier to make an RTS game would be welcome ;)! And Paul don't hate people because they are better in some things! In this world always someone is better than someone else in something! :P LOL!
