wow, so many choices

Posted by James Melton / Eluminite 19th August, 2004

wow, so many choices... I guess I'll just vote for the one that isn't a broken link :-P

Posted by Jamesbuc 19th August, 2004

I voted for Sonic DIY :)

Posted by Tigerworks 19th August, 2004

Hmm... I've won 2 GOTWs (Exploding Bacon and Terminal Orbit)... which should I vote for? :P

Posted by Retired Kliker Lazarus 19th August, 2004

Hard to choose... :O

Posted by Silveraura 19th August, 2004

I liked Enternal Daugher, how can we tell which game is in the lead. Where is the number of votes for each game?

Posted by Mr Coffee 19th August, 2004

Just vote for Eternal Daughter, you know you want to. :) Really though, only about five games on their deserve any consideration at all. I predict either Lost Valley or Eternal Daughter will win.

Posted by ben_02 19th August, 2004

Theres too many games to choose from, it should be cut down otherwise the results will be inaccurate.

Posted by Radix 19th August, 2004

The whole point of the thing is that it has to be out of all of them.

Posted by ben_02 19th August, 2004

There's no such thing as an all-time game of the week. Everybody has different tastes and all this will do is divide the people who voted for the winner and those who voted otherwise. Think about it. Statistical popularity doesn't define a better game, especially on the Daily Click where theres only a couple of hundred active users.

Posted by RapidFlash 19th August, 2004

I voted for That Night Before 4 because I couldn't find The Spirit Engine.

Posted by X_Sheep 20th August, 2004

I voted Sonic DIY, because that COULD've been my game in that place XD XD Maybe it's an idea that members can vote for 3 things, since there's that much choice :P

Posted by Muggus 20th August, 2004

That's just waaay too many games to choose from. Actually i'm suprised some of those deserve to be in there! XD

Posted by Jamesbuc 20th August, 2004

Yeah me too. Like the Hand game and Maths Funtime.

Posted by CYS 20th August, 2004

Woo..someone mention my game! XD Anyway, i'm happy to get just one vote. :P

Posted by Cazra 20th August, 2004

It was a tough choice but... Billybob teh Cactus Blob Roxxors! :D

Posted by Phlibbit 20th August, 2004

HELL YES! THANK YOU!

Posted by Pete Nattress 20th August, 2004

i agree, there's way too much to chose from, so i voted for the game i've played the most - SKS.

Posted by Hernan 20th August, 2004

Where's GOTW #99?? The GOTWs only goes to #98 WHO WILL BE THE GRAND WINNER GOTW#99??!!!

Posted by Hernan 20th August, 2004

Never mind, I see a lot of GOTWs missing

Posted by Joshtek 20th August, 2004

Yeah, shame that theres so many missing.

Posted by Phredreeke 20th August, 2004

I voted for TNB Archive... I would have voted for TNB4 if it weren't that I thought TNB Archive had more votes. Silly me mixed up downloads and votes X_X

Posted by Retired Kliker Lazarus 20th August, 2004

I'm not going to vote for Billybob... I see the three best contenders: 1)Eternal Daughter 2)Lost Valley 3)Mr. Stumps' Dentures (Note: I've only been here since the 45th Game of The Week (or somewhere around there). ;) So I haven't played some of these games.

Posted by Blackstorm 20th August, 2004

COME ON, GLADIATOR SIMULATOR!!! ... Hell no, I wouldn't vote for that... BTW, is there a way to see the current standings?

Posted by Willy C 20th August, 2004

I think the titan omage revelation and that fish head guy are worhty winners. Etarnal daughter and lost walley didnt appeal to me.

Posted by Alltower 20th August, 2004

Steambolt or Eternal Daughter are probably the only games that deserve this award.

Posted by Kris 20th August, 2004

bullshit

Posted by Alltower 20th August, 2004

Then please refer to other games with similar quality.

Posted by Alltower 20th August, 2004

Oh yeah. I completely forgot about SKS. ED has a lot of downsides, but you've got to give credit to all the work that was put into it.

Posted by David Niemeyer 20th August, 2004

Red Feud owns

Posted by Jamesbuc 20th August, 2004

Sonic DIY Rulez your computer!

Posted by Muffin Batel [neonair games] 20th August, 2004

i voted fishhead 3- it roxxes!

Posted by Retired Kliker Lazarus 20th August, 2004

Chicken1428...your screwed up. :P I just thought it was a good platformer. :P

Posted by Joshtek 20th August, 2004

Personally I would have preferred a 3-votes-per-user system, but not allow people to put all 3 on one game ^_^.

Posted by Retired Kliker Lazarus 20th August, 2004

I just enjoyed the game. That's all. ;) Joshtek: I agree.

Posted by AsparagusTrevor 20th August, 2004

Half of those games aren't even uploaded anymore. Well, some of em anyway.

Posted by Strife 20th August, 2004

Oh my, look at all those games! Psh, my game (Astro Dude) is feeble, compared to some of the great works on that list. :P I'm going to vote for either Eternal Daughter, Streambolt, or Last Defender. I'll sleep on it. Don't vote for SKS. It's a good game, but it's waaaay too overrated.

Posted by BeamSplashX 20th August, 2004

I voted ED, simply because I appreciate the work that Blackeye put into it. And it was the first in the string of big Klik games that's a fad nowadays. Otherwise I would've voted Tango Strike, because I'm biased towards games with lots of unlockables. And ED has the most original content in it (original music, graphics, sounds), and in the most number (SKS was also all original in those ways, but there isn't as much content).

Posted by 醤油の兵士 20th August, 2004

I voted Xor, it was a great game, though it's not exactly origrinal, but has great gameplay, engine and graphics. and ED is overrated. #99 is gone because Gigas pulled his disappearing trick again :( or I'd have voted Flannville(though it never won, it would've had it still been on TDC at time of voting) or Moon Minions

Posted by Blackstorm 20th August, 2004

I, personally, would only vote for a game if it was good. I don't care how much work was put into it. (Well, I would compliment them in posts, but I wouldn't vote for it to win a contest) If someone worked for 5 years on a Pong game, I would not vote for it unless it was actually somewhat original. I vote only for the best in gameplay. So beware. HA! :P

Posted by ChrisB 21st August, 2004

Streambolt was too short for my liking, and SKS got very repetitive. Yeah, they were both great games, but do they deserve GOTW 100?

Posted by Jamesbuc 21st August, 2004

I voted Sonic DIY because I like sonic and Ive always wanted to create my own levels. :)

Posted by Strife 21st August, 2004

If you like Sonic, look out for my next game, Sonic Strife. I won't say anything about it, other than the fact that it's 10 times better than most Sonic fangames out there. :p Anywayz, i'm still undecided. Should I vote for Eternal Daughter, Fishhead 3, or Last Defender?

Posted by Strife 21st August, 2004

Fallen Angel's games are short, but sweet. They're too short to win the Ultimate GOTW award, though.

Posted by X_Sheep 21st August, 2004

Sonic fangames will only be good if it has unlockables XD

Posted by Pixelthief 21st August, 2004

Factor X shoulda had a shot at this... Too old for gotw :/

Posted by Mark 21st August, 2004

Wasn't Spiderman a GOTW:P

Posted by Dr. James MD 21st August, 2004

Ben_02 is right there are too many diverse tastes out there to have an exact number 1. maybe best of Genre or whatever, but its probably too late for that

Posted by ZeroTau[FA] 22nd August, 2004

I don't think you can call any klik-game an ED ripoff unless the graphics are similar, because ED ripped off gameplay from other games alot(although Blackeye made it WORSE than the games they were getting their inspiration from).

Posted by Spork 22nd August, 2004

I voted for Worm Wars IV

Posted by Strife 22nd August, 2004

Okay, i'll vote for Eternal Daughter...

Posted by remnance 22nd August, 2004

Worm Wars IV= Overrated

Posted by ben_02 22nd August, 2004

There's going to be one game with like, 20 votes, another 5 games with nearly 20, and then 50 games with 1 vote, etc. This is going to be a really distorted and meaningless vote. Nothing more than an ego trip for the winner, and fuel for a massive argument.

Posted by Rikus 22nd August, 2004

Agree or disagree, all in good fun, and hey its something different:)

Posted by Penguin Seph 23rd August, 2004

MSD all the way!

Posted by jpSoul 24th August, 2004

mm... what is a gotw ???

Posted by Joshtek 24th August, 2004

most weeks people get a list of the best games of the past 7-days (or so), they vote on one, and whichever gets the most votes is deemed the "Game Of The Week", or GOTW.

Posted by danjo 24th August, 2004

i finally decided to have a look at this and ben is exactly right. this whole exercise is all full of shit anyway, with missing games, shareware, abandoned games and demos in the mix. WHO ARE YOU KIDDING

Posted by Rick (AntiMatter Entertainment) 25th August, 2004

I voted Machines Of Destruction because I've played it and enjoyed it the most out of all of the games on there. Butterfly 660 was a close second.

Posted by Phlibbit 25th August, 2004

Some time after this GOTW 100, I think they should also have some genre awards, like best platformer, best DEMO (heh, that'll weed those out), best puzzle game, etc.

Posted by Strife 25th August, 2004

That's a good idea. :)

Posted by Jamesbuc 25th August, 2004

Yeah good idea. Cos this idea still kinda stinks.

Posted by colej_uk 25th August, 2004

Hey thanks for voting for my game Spork, now I know I have at least 2 votes XD

Posted by DarkMatterX 28th August, 2004

Shouldn't the poll be over now?

Posted by Phlibbit 28th August, 2004

Yeah, according to the info on the news post, the poll should've ended this past Thursday. What's up?
