GOTW #104
News posted 3rd October, 2004 by Knudde (Shab)
KNPMASTER has once again won GOTW with his entry Alien Gunner. Pulling up in a second place we have Thod III - Sharing Worlds by Seph.

In this week's GOTW we have Nam, Demolition Mouse Ball, Super Mario Epic 2, Mars, and Black n White Bomber.
Once again, somewhat slow goings this week, hopefully we can get some more games here.

Eventful Moments of the Week

  • Teapot, aka. Damien M. an admin over at Click Island wants to know who you think has the best avatar, click here to let him know.
  • We're looking for a new admin to help us update the site more, mail Shadowcaster at shadowcaster at netspace dot net dot au with an example of your writing, regardless of it's content (as long as it's appropriate) to show us your writing skills
  • Circy's on vacation, so don't flood him with DC mail, and be thankful we aren't being subjected to his disgusting dentures avatar. Again, but at least we got a preview of MSD 2 this time
  • I got a decent look at Factor X2, along with some details on the new multiplayer, you can head over to Klik Union to take a look.

It was a good run. Number + Matrix did decently well...

I guess that my game may deserve this. I want to see what you (as community) think about it. Anyway: good luck to all the other contenders.

That's exactly what I was gonna say Trev. :P It's just not a good week at DC unless some member has posted a metric fuckload of spam in the forums about how good their latest game is, how much they love Jesus, or how pissed of they are that their sister keeps on using their account to post on the forums. Now that's worthy of the weekly news post.

Meh, it's actually decent, besides, it's not a demo of a fangame or anything.

I have understood that the whole Klik-Union is voting for the greatest game ever "Black n White Bomber" and I accept this as it's part of the rules of the GoTW award. But I don't accept the increasing number of bad evaluation for “Nam” coming from this strategy. So, please, send your friends in voting your game (since it’s a right you have) but try not to manipulate also the rating of my game since I’m sure it doesn’t deserve that. Thanks..

Uhh, Claudio, they're not doing that dude, they may be voting for B&W bomber, but I doubt they're dragging your rating down, as the two are completely unrelated (GOTW has nothing to do with rating).

I'm a bit disappointed since I want people to make their decision just thinking about games. I find, in this case, things aren't going in the way they should. Even besides the real wish of both me and my "opponent". I say: try the games and take your decision just about that. Nothing else, please: when I see an increasing number of thumbs up or down in a few minutes or an increasing, all of sudden, number of votes (even for "Nam") I want to hope that it's because you tried the game. Otherwise we can put there everything but games and tell friends and parents to vote for that. It's not fair for me (that's a game that is great basically from a technical point of view) as it is for "Black n White Bomber" (that is great for game-play). I'm 26 but when I see this kind of stuff I get upset and I'm sorry if I, somehow, irritated somebody.
