Happy Halloween, DC 4 & Donation!
News posted 30th October, 2005 by Rikus

Muhahhaa happy halloween! I just wanted to thank Clubsoft for the excellent work he did on the halloween theme this year (i did the logo, woot:) and that's not all because the entire site has been recoded by club! You should notice a long with some changes here and there that the site runs much faster now. Also this new code sets the upcoming new dc at its starting point. Yes folks while the site might have the same feel everything under the hood has been changed and soon the new features of the dc 4 will start apearing, Club is doing the best he can, but having the main dc4 code with us is a big step in the changes to come. Also i wanted to thank Ian Barefood for his recent donation to the dc, thanks Ian way to go! Enjoy halloween folks, and if you have any suggestions or features for the new dc this would be the best time to share them. Its going to be a very cool couple of months indeed!

I am very pleased with the improvements, but would like to reiterate the statement about my eyes.

GAH!, this scared me to death when i saw it. It looked like a warez site.

This is great. Reviewing has become easier too!
Good job, Clubsoft!

And of course: Good job, you too Rikus!

And all the other admins!

I like the theme
Posted by hishnak 31st October, 2005

I like the "whats hot" thats a cool feature.
Posted by Keatontech! 31st October, 2005

Wow, this is a lot faster, nice work Clubsoft. I can't wait to see some of the new features of DC4. The "What's Hot" thing is awsome.
Posted by izac 31st October, 2005

Bwhaha! Spoooky!
Posted by Keatontech! 31st October, 2005

I think TDC should be skinable, and users can make their own skins.
Posted by Clubsoft 31st October, 2005

Ah, but it is (I'll enable when halloween is over, and Ive done some more skins).. I need to write something to generate skins to make it easier for everyone else though, at the moment its what you might call a bit of a b%$!ard, anyone who wants a play around in its current state is more than welcome though

Smeby - Yes it's lial

The Daily Click seemed to be down all of today! Good to see it's back up.
Posted by izac 1st November, 2005

keep it like this all black, i love it

A bit hard for my eyes, but nice otherwise.

One note though. When wieving the screenshots for a game, the "1 of 5" text (stating what number of picture I am viewing) is white on a white background!
Posted by axel 1st November, 2005

The screenshots on Preview.asp don't seem to show
Posted by Keatontech! 1st November, 2005

I think this skin is too halloweenie (if that's a word) to leave as the default skin. But it should still be a skin that you can chose. One problem with this skin is that I can't tell signatures from posts on the boards, oh well.
Posted by DaVince 1st November, 2005

Hey... Has Radix' avatar changed? Now a fairy dies!
Posted by Radix 1st November, 2005

I had to get rid of the white flash because of this skin so I decided on a seasonal thing as well. It will go back to normal when TDC does.
Posted by Keatontech! 1st November, 2005

so, what other new features are there going to be?

Posted by Brad  1st November, 2005

Clubsoft: - THIS is why you should consider going all CSS. Instead of having to make out a long explaination on how to do skins for the site all people would have to do is make a stylesheet file and send it to you. It would save soo much coding. ASP driven skins are so 2002.
Posted by Brad  1st November, 2005

If you need some help making stylesheets work in IE i can point you toward some articles. It's pointless to wait until a version of IE is out that can handle stylesheet when studies have shown that over 70% of internet users still use IE4 or less anyway.

We are better than the ordinary internets. Ours runs on w3c-compliant molten hot lava made by The Hasselhoff crushing rocks with his pecs.
Posted by Clubsoft 1st November, 2005

The skins -ARE- CSS actually, theres just alot to do
Posted by Radix 1st November, 2005

Yay, it's back to normal.
Posted by Keatontech! 1st November, 2005

so, uhh, where are the skins?
Posted by Simon Colmer 2nd November, 2005

woooh, go dudes
Posted by Phredreeke 2nd November, 2005

Donation related suggestion: What about donations through SMS? Would be easier for those of us without Paypal accounts (and with no intention of getting one)
Posted by Crystal Clear (H.E.S) 2nd November, 2005

Suggestion: Maybe add some sort of Seperator between the Body of a reply and Quote, just like a - - - -
or even an little image.
Posted by Keatontech! 2nd November, 2005

Uhh, the RSS feed isn't working
Posted by DaVince 3rd November, 2005

Yep, I noticed too.
Posted by Muggüs 3rd November, 2005

A new beefy engine for the site you say? I like the sound of that. And possibly the smell if you stick to using premium, dude.

Ps...yes, Muggus is back. Be afraid.
Posted by Liquixcat 3rd November, 2005

I-I-I'm afraid, Who are you?
Posted by Keatontech! 3rd November, 2005

MAN, this is a lot faster
Posted by Crystal Clear (H.E.S) 4th November, 2005

Haha heya muggus, havent seen you around here for awhile. been at the pub have ya?
Posted by Radix 6th November, 2005

I would like to announce my approval of the fucking cool way page numbers are displayed now on the forum. I know this isn't a big feature, but I'm pretty tanked now and for me it's the sweetest thing ever.
