One of the disadvantages of living in a Mac household is that in order to use MMF, or write news posts for the site, or be able to take and edit screenshots, or do anything useful at all really, I have to retreat upstairs to the PC I built when I arrived. But now I've got the chance to point out three engine-type uploads that were submitted recently.
The first of them is R-Shmup Engine by Guillermo, which is something of a rarity from an MMF application - a complete editor in its own right. As you'd expect from the title, it allows you to easily create shoot-em-ups. Or "shmups", if you will.

With an easy scripting language you can make your own games using your own graphics, sounds and music. You can make your own power ups, your own ships, your own enemies and bosses, everything! It comes with an example game, an editing tool, a manual and a step by step tutorial!

The second is the Character Racer Engine, which was made by Bartman and used in his semi-isometric kart game "Anime Rally" released a couple of months ago. It's basically a set of commented code that gives the basis for making a racing game.

Here is a version of the engine used in Anime Rally with some basic elements done. This requires the Directional Calculator for turning, and I've put in several comments about what certain aspects of the code does what.

And thirdly, Mruqe has submitted the Open 3Dungeon, which uses an image built up from separate sections to give a 3D representation of a tile-based dungeon, like in the old AD&D RPGs that I never understood. And it's got quite a nice logo.
Comments from the Author:
It's able to display a representation of a maze using an oldschool 3D view similiar to those used in classic "Dungeon Master" or "Eye of the Beholder" games. It's perfect for dungeon exploration cRPG games but it can be easily altered for other purposes. It's very basic design makes it easy to use and understand.
