New Physics Extension!
News posted 24th November, 2007 by Assault Andy
Phizix is a new extension based on the Chipmunk Game Dynamics engine. Created by Daniel Rehn, it is compatible with the full version of Multimedia Fusion and Multimedia Fusion Developer.

Phizix allows for rigid body physics and joints, allowing a new level of freedom in game and application development. Phizix is a must have extension as it will allow developers to implement features such as falling crates, realistic bouncing objects, swinging motions and basic ragdolls.

Isn't Phys-X the name of that big mega physics thingy for graphics cards or something? Either way. This sounds just a bit awesome

Yups, AGEIA PhysX.
I'm predicting there will be a lot of small physic games released for a while now.

lol, you're right.

Actually I'm planning to use this in my Winter game.
THANK YOU DANIEL!

What the? The installer uses the images I made for my bonus pack installer!
And it even has my bonus pack icons in there!

Well that's mighty impressive! It looks a little limited though, what with shapes and the likes, but this really should be something Clickteam should put into MMF3 or whatever. It's a huge leap in the right direction.
I won't be putting it into my projects because they've already got a foundation. But I'd love to use this on something new.

Any tutorials available?

The examples are with the object.
I don't think the object is very limited since a lot of wanted features have already been included following the beta testers ideas.

this is pretty awesome but it doesn't seem to handle realistic levels of gravity very well

I don't think the features are limited at all really. If you look at the documentation, there is support for custom shapes and polygons. Look at the pinball example, the walls are all unusual shapes.
