TDC Christmas Competition Results!
News posted 25th February, 2008 by The Chris Street
Well, it's been a long and arduous journey but the competition results are now in! Many thanks to everyone who participated... I think we've now got a new record in terms of competition end-time to results-being-delivered time, so a big round of applause for us! Haha..er ok.

Anyway, enjoy the controversy, that's what I say - and feel free to give your opinions on the results in the comments section!

Special thanks must, as ever, go to the wonderful Clickteam who supplied the prizes. I'll be contacting the 2nd/3rd Place winners to double-confirm their addresses so the appropriate prizes can be sent to them.

It's interesting to read the other judge's thoughts.. Maybe I was a bit too harsh in places

Congratulations to the winners and a BIG thanks to Chris for getting this thing together - great work

I didn't organise last years competition, not my field!!!

Ouchie!

At least i wasn't last place, oh well. I'm not really surprised you found those 'bugs'. Some of which i didn't even think would exist. Like, that edit box sound. Oh well, thats what happens I guess when you try to crunch time a competition entry. Yeesh, but thanks again for the feed back. Hopefully I'll learn from this and do better next time.

Congrats

Thanks a lot everyone, I wish I'd sorted out the slow down though... I don't like changing games after they're done :\.

Still, it's a great honour!

Flava - I feel way harsh about some of the things I said too I think I began to just ramble for a couple of things. I tended to judge these entries late at night lol.

Congratulations to everyone who won. And thank you to all the people who entered, I had fun looking through the games.

"It's a fair effort for a joke entry if it is one, it's kind of fun "
Haha, glad someone understood it.

And the winner wasn't exactly a surprise. Congrats~

Instead of a "programming" judging category, it definitely should've been "originality"...

Posted by Assault Andy 26th February, 2008

Originality isn't a bad idea for a category. Maybe we could have that next year.

Posted by Bibin 26th February, 2008

Yes, but it should not replace originality.

I like how two years ago, the source was included so the efficienci and organization of our code could be graded.

Posted by viva/volt 26th February, 2008

Heh I think I'd have done ok with code organization... Except every group's name began with Teh after I made the mistake once .

I'd get a 0 in originality ;_;.

Er, um, yeah. Congratulations Ben.

Jesus Hat is the best game-character Ive ever seen.

"Please don't make huge gaps in your posts, I really doubt that will help your request."

You're too serious sometimes.

Posted by Ski 26th February, 2008

No, it's just really annoying and n00bish. If people find things like that amusing, perhaps their maturity levels are equally as low.

lol! .. soz *is quiet*

Posted by DaVince 26th February, 2008

It's not annoying or noobish, especially if he puts only two line breaks.

Posted by Ski 26th February, 2008

There were about 20 line breaks.

Posted by Xhunterko 26th February, 2008

i thought i fixed that, hmm. Oh well, congratz ben!

Yay! Ben won! I feel proud to have been (remotely) involved in EE WW!

Oh. My. God.

Santasatnas shouldn't have been. It wasn't destined for this world. My friend and I made it on super fast PCs, didn't think about slowdown, and crammed it as full of jokes as possible. We had Physics exams to revise for and I had to add about 6 enemy types within the last day, staying up till half 2 in the morning, Christmas Eve, to get it finished before I went away on holiday 2 hours later. I realised how many bugs there were when I got to Sri Lanka, and vowed to complete them when I returned.

Once the big guardian actually works I'll upload it to the Daily Click. Thanks for the positive reviews!
