New Game: Pork and Bring 'em Back
News posted 24th September, 2008 by Simon Colmer
With little submissions this week, it’s nice to see a game like this one. Pork is an original puzzle concept game developed by Toxic Avenger; even though its game span is short it’s easy to see potential when it comes to game play.

Comments from the Author: "Planet earth is being invaded by aliens and mankind’s last hope lies in the retired N.Y.P.D detective Max Viland. Unfortunately, the aliens have released all of Max's pigs since they know that without them he can't use his fabulous super-duper powers - the pork must be saved"

With a twist of a story and a simple enough concepts this game is a nice little time waster which makes you to want to keep playing. This game is worth taking a look at.

Bring ‘em Back
Today’s spotlight to the BeB parade is a game release back in 2002 called Watkins. It has lovely quirky graphics and a comedic storyline. Not a game to be taken seriously (which will become obvious once started) but still a fun game all the same. Try and beat all 30 levels :S to regain control of the South Pole which has been stolen from Watkins grandfather.

Comments from the Author: “Watkins is a penguin with a mission and a slingshot. He has to make his way through 35 levels in 4 worlds, facing moose’s, scorpions and more, to face the evil Davy Jones.”

So if you want to help get Watkins’s South Pole back (man that sounds dodgy) then go take a look

Aaah yes Watkins, surely a klik classic. Problem now is that on my computer I can only play it in a tiny window with a massive black border around it... anyone got any ideas how I can fix?

Hard to believe that Watkins is 6 years old with those graphics; they sure do stand up to todays standards!

I suppose the best thing to do is change your screen resolution to its lowest one? lol

That's better, now it plays like a 6 year old game - i can hardly make out anything! Retro, maaaaaaaaaaan!!

Ahh, yes... Watkins. Is it REALLY six years old?? Goodness... That thing is still floating around on my hard drive, I saw it the other day...

It was a good'un.

I remember watkins was the game they had for a similar thing rikus(?) did a few years back called "klik goldmine"... or something.

It's funny the same game came up again...

don't mean to whore my own games, but really how about blobquest?
http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=7154

I never finished it, but what I did make was roughly on par with most finished games length wise, yet in all these years it got a grand total of 44 downloads. Heck the demo for it years and years ago got more. I can port it to MMF2 so it doesn't crash, if ye want.

Just one idea, i'm sure theres plenty of other deserving games that got skipped over

Importing into TGF2 breaks my games. Balding Overweight Man sprouts bugs if I import it.

Posted by Pixelthief 25th September, 2008

ergh I used the 1000 global values & 1000 global flags objects a ton, so MMF2 is out of the question

instantaneous crashing when loaded in MMF1.5
well, it could still use more than 44 downloads even if its going to crash a bit theres hours of platforming gameplay in it

Not sure if you get the idea of Bring Em Back... under-rated or unknown games in the (distant) past... maybe in a year if BEB keeps running Blobquest could be mentioned.

I made blobquest about 3-4 years ago and never posted it. Dunno how distant you were looking for, you could always dig up some future fantasy games.

It's a shame how Watkins doesn't work on my new pc.

I have a copy of Super awesome adventure extreme if you guys want it in your next 'Bring em back'.

why not create a page in tdc dedicated to this initiative ? and I'd recommend uploading the games too because we don't know how long their original download links will last.

Oh yeah also Circy, Watkins is really popular so if Blobquest is too new, then Watkins should have been too popular.
