I can't believe I'm witnessing the very first GOTM! Historical moment

Posted by Solgryn 1st May, 2009

Wtf, some of these arent even games

Posted by alastair john jack 1st May, 2009

Just like mario isn't a game?

Posted by Cecilectomy 1st May, 2009

You mean now i have to actually play all these games?

Posted by Fanotherpg 1st May, 2009

Rikus I think that if it's now GOTM the voting should be also during whole month and not only one week - it's just like in GOTW you would agree only for voting in first 2 days.

'You mean now i have to actually play all these games?'

You make it sound like a chore to play free games.

I'm still waiting for my desktop prize points.

Posted by Ecstazy 1st May, 2009

I added "woot" to 1000 DC points but nothing to 2500 DC points?

Posted by Dr. James MD 1st May, 2009

Luor cuz it's hella addictive, bootiful and reminds me of classic Amiga vertical shooters.

Posted by Muz 1st May, 2009

My game's not in there

Posted by Rikus 1st May, 2009

"Also let us know what game you voted for and why!" - Thanks James!

I think Luor is amazing because its style and addictiveness is truly awesome! This game is amazing... I can def. see it on Wiiware, PSN, or Xbox Live Arcade!

It takes more skill to make pixel art as beautiful as Hayo's, than a few ink effects, alpha channel graphics and particle effects.

Posted by OMC 1st May, 2009

Blobs Adventure 2. I found Luor to be very stereotypical, even though it looked shiny.

Posted by UrbanMonk 1st May, 2009

I voted for Luor, even though I didn't like the gameplay much. It was the first name that I recognized. But now that I think about it Blobs Adventure was muuch better. Darn

Posted by Ski 1st May, 2009

Wow, some of these comments just seem to confirm how unfair this all is >_<

Posted by Cecilectomy 1st May, 2009

it is a chore when there are so many of them. the only ones ive played are luor, gtg, blobs skyscraber, and standard waiver.

i think we should have the entire month to vote so we can play the tomes of games in the running, like fanotherpg said.

Posted by Poobical 1st May, 2009

Voted for Blobs Adventure 2. Even though I like Luor, Blob's Adventure seemed a bit more orginial and had more depth to it. Plus I prefer the graphics in BA2 than Luor. If I could vote a second place, then it would be Luor lol.

Posted by Fanotherpg 1st May, 2009

I voted for Hayo's entry because I played it when it was released at his portfolio and it was a loooong time ago.

And thanks Cecil for support

Who was it that suggested the idea that we vote every week like normal but don't give an award, and then at the end of the month we vote from the winners of the GOTW and they do get an award? I like that idea.

Posted by UrbanMonk 1st May, 2009

yeah me too, like game of the month nominations

Posted by X_Sheep 1st May, 2009

I don't think I like that idea actually. How about we still use the GOTM poll but we can vote for 3 games at a time?

"Blobs Adventure 2. I found Luor to be very stereotypical, even though it looked shiny." 110% agreed

"It takes more skill to make pixel art as beautiful as Hayo's, than a few ink effects, alpha channel graphics and particle effects."

Harder artwork doesn't always equal better artwork Having said that i do prefer Hayo's artwork to Luor.

Voted for Alien Space cause it deserves some votes!

I agree. It's probably pretty hard to <put an object into censored object> but that doesn't mean I want to watch someone do it.

I think its a bit disrespectful to compare someones art to that.

Posted by Xhunterko 2nd May, 2009

Just a quick question. I hope ya'll aren't allowing any new members to join during the voting period. You know so x member can't log in as x,y,z, and z2 to bump up his own vote. The site fbtb.net does this and it works quite well. Although it may not be such a big problem here, it's just a thought.

Posted by alastair john jack 2nd May, 2009

I don't base my opinion on art alone, but rather based on the experience that I had with the game.

Posted by OMC 2nd May, 2009

Yea, there's a waiting time before new members can vote.

Posted by Rikus 2nd May, 2009

New members will not be able to vote

Posted by AndyUK 2nd May, 2009

Yeah ive said before no one is going to play all of the games before voting. It's not surprise to see people voting for the only game they played thinking the fact it caught their eye above all the other games as reason enough to earn their vote.
But it's either going to be that or no one votes at all.

Oh yeah also i want to say i agree with Adams second comment.

I voted for Crazy Moose! because I really liked the name.

Posted by Chaoz (Tri-Life Gaming) 3rd May, 2009

I voted for Luor, because it's totally my kinda game. Someone actually voted for my "game"

Posted by JustinC 4th May, 2009

I was more commenting on the "harder doesn't mean better" concept. I hear people say "You know, it takes a lot of skill to rap or to be an opera singer" but just because it's difficult doesn't make me want to listen to it. That said, I also prefer the art style in santaman.

Also, I don't think the word pineapple needed to be censored.
