Just a quick note that I'll be prettying up the page when the site stops throwing error messages at me. Tweets begin from tomorrow.

I secretly joined it a week or so back after a friend kept nagging me to do so. Still don't fully grasp it but I'll be sure to follow TDC when I do!

I found out today that Xfire has joined as well... but I refuse to give in to Twitter, it still reminds me of people going 'Oh I'm eating a bit of toast' 'Oh I might go to bed' 'Oh I have 100 followers!!!!'

The tweet thing sounds pretty lame to me. I'm addicted enough to TDC and Facebook. I don't want another addicting application in my life

Facebook > Twitter

I don't understand what's so great about Twitter other than some rich and powerful jerkwad spreading it all over the media to attempt to sway them into using their crap. Facebook came first. I don't use Facebook either, but I'll agree that Facebook > Twitter.

What ever happened to regular websites eh? .. you know, those things that you can usually ignore without having them shoved in your face at every instant.
I despise this worlds' twisted commercialistic stylings.
Can't even watch a television show without waiting on a ton of commercials. It's horrible.

Why can't they just use some tact and subtlety? .. I'd much rather watch a show with some ads placed in it in a subtle way, like coke machines, and cans in sitcoms and even up to the point of mentioning that it's nice to sit and relax and enjoy an ice cold pepsi, or budweiser, or whatever.

And just one single 10-15 min or so intermission in the middle of a movie, sose you can get snacks or drinks or go to the batroom, instead of the usual umteen zillion of them constantly stopping the plot.
As long as it's tactful and within the context of the show and not just one big ad disguised as a show, I'd much rather have it that way than interrupting the show every 5 mins.

I'm gonna stop watching television and start reading more books ...
Speaking of Reading: Anyone know if there is such a thing as an Internet reading program and where I could get it if there is? ... you know what I mean right? .. basically something that will read out the words on the screen aloud so I don't have to read (then I'd feel more like reading books). Maybe something like those blind ppl apps, but user friendly for those of us with eyes too, and they need to sound more human as well ... Someone really needs to improve the blind apps btw, I know this cause of a blind friend ..

The ability to change the speed and tone of voice would be nice too. It annoyed me to wait on the sluggish words of the application that a blind friend showed me. And it didn't even sound human, and the so called human sounding voices sounded even worse.
I'm going to attempt making something like that eventually, but it needs to sound less like crap than what he uses.
(it'll need to have blind-friendly controls as well as eye-friendly controls though)

If someone could help me create such a program, it sure would make him happy, and me too because I'd use it instead of ruining my eyes on this computer screen all the time.

You could just download an audiobook.

Talk about stream of consciousness. Audiobooks, like Bricnic said. There are plenty of readers out there, but they all sound like Microsoft Sam or equally as bad.

You could make your own with MMF2 with the TTS extension.

Audiobooks ... I guess ... but I'd rather read the book and have what's written on forums and such read aloud to me ... not the other way round .. heh.

Besides, how would an audio book help Mr. Brothers surf the internet easier and faster?
