Facebook Extension In The Works!
News posted 31st May, 2011 by Strife

Have you been itching to show your MMF2 games to your Facebook friends? Do you wish it would be easier to integrate your game into the world's biggest social networking website? I certaintly do. Our wish may soon come true, because Clickteam has been cooking up a new Facebook extension for Multimedia Fusion 2. It's currently in beta, but it already looks promising.

According to the announcement on the Clickteam forums, the extension will be able to retrieve a generous amount of information from your players' Facebook profiles, including their name, gender, location, birthday, relationship status, and much more. (Imagine a game where the dialog changes depending on whether or not you're single. xD) You'll also be able to post messages to your players' walls, allowing them to easily tell their friends about your creation. There's no way to retrieve profile pictures yet, but Stephen L, the head honcho behind development, has said that it will be available in the next beta.

Clickteam calls for aid in the form of beta testers, so if you're interested in trying out the Facebook extension, pick up your sword- I mean, swing on over there to find out how you can help!

No, and no. I have real friends.

I have a policy not to bother my FB friends too much with my games (they just are not interested) but I can see the use of this.

Aye; Personally I get really annoyed by constant messages from games such as Farmville. But I would definitely love the ability to put profile pictures and such into my games to spice up the high score tables.

I just use facebook to see pictures.
There aren't any real games on facebook worth playing anyway.

This is cool though, too bad it's difficult to make money on facebook anymore now that they've changed the way app's can go viral now.

All the more reason to make one

I've always wanted to make sort of a Facebook MMO. Create a character, log in daily to train him, and then get your Facebook friends to hunt monsters and do quests together.

From Facebook, i think only Buddy Rush is pretty good and a "real" game. I hope this new tool will open some new possibilities.

Sounds good.

The concept of getting info from the player's profile to customize the plot of the game sounds really cool, it's a shame it's only for swf creations.
