Spud's Quest on Kickstarter!
News posted 31st October, 2012 by Jon Lambert
UPDATE: ChrisD has now released a demo of Spud's Quest. He states that it covers nearly all of the first area - the Earth Temple. You know what you need to do... Click here to download the demo!

Hello all! Are you or were you a fan of the Dizzy series of games? I've come here to tell you that ChrisD has made a Kickstarter page for his game Spud's Quest. Having played the demo so long ago, I know it to be a project worthy of £5,000, and I will be utterly disappointed if it doesn't meet its goal. Just look at those pretty graphics, those red shoes and white gloves, and ask yourself you can bear to deny yourself this game.

Comments from ChrisD: Spud's Quest is a puzzle adventure game for Windows inspired by many of the 8bit & 16bit games I grew up with. It started off as a homage to the once popular Dizzy series, but over time elements from other games found their way in- most notably The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Tomb Raider. Players take on the role of Spud and his friend Prince Charming, who has been cursed by an evil wizard and turned into a frog. The pair set on a journey to uncover four ancient stones that have the power to banish the evil and remove the curse.

I also remember this from waaay before I started at University. I graduated last year so it feels like ages to me! It'll be good to finally see this finished!

Yeah is this the same game as the one that was already released?
Or a sequel? or a reboot?

Kudos to Chris for keeping up with this all this time!

I said Steam Greenlight, not kickstarter you fool!
I kid, looks great, I too will be disappointed if this doesn't do well.

Thanks guys. It's the same game but it's changed so much, might as well be a reboot.

Raising awareness for the project is the important thing, the UK kickstarter launch has been swamped with submissions and it's hard to find.

All retweets, facebook posts etc welcome

Best of luck with the kickstarter. This game deserves the backing.

The whole name dropping thing really puts me off this now.

Really Ski? He didn't say "Notch backed me" because he thinks it will make his game look better in your eyes, he said it because it made him happy, like "An accomplished game developer thought my game had merit! That makes me so happy!"

Ski? I thought it was Adam
