20-day Pesky Power-ups game jam begins (and Clickteam has a prize for the winner!)
News posted Today by Joshtek

This new Daily Click game jam competition has now begun, with submissions due in 20 days so 12:00 noon on Tuesday 26th May 2026 (UK time).

Prizes:

  • Clickteam has generously provided the first place prize, which is your choice of: Clickteam Fusion 2.5+, a Developer Upgrade for current CF2.5 users, or an exporter of your choice. Thanks, Clickteam!
  • The winner will also be listed as a Game of the Week/Month winner, and get DC Points and a special tag.
  • Those with valid entries will get a DC tag and some DC points.
Theme and judging
The theme for the competition is 'Pesky Power-ups'.

The judges are DC admins Josh "Joshtek" Dowen and Chris Street. Judges will provide a review of each game and rank them. The rankings will take into account gameplay, creativity and use of the theme. The game which the judge(s) give the highest collective ranking will be the winner. If you wish for your game to be unranked, say so in your submission. The judges decisions are final.

If you wish to make your case for why you think your game should be ranked highly against the various criteria then you are free to make your case within your submission or in a DC Mail to Joshtek. This will be taken into consideration and where relevant will be discussed in the results post.

Rules (including information to include with your submission)

Within the game itself, please state that the game was made for this competition (including a reference to create-games.com), mention the software used to make it, and list your DC alias.

Include instructions on controls in the game, the DC game entry, and/or a readme file.

Games should be freeware and avoid copyright and trademark infringement.

Games should be made using Clickteam software (e.g. Fusion 2.5 and Fusion 2.5 Free Edition). HTML5 games are allowed, but ideally you should also provide a downloadable version of the game for preservation purposes.

Games have to be submitted by the deadline of 12:00 noon UK time on Tuesday 26th May 2026 to The Daily Click using the 'Submit a game' function. You will need to find hosting for your game, which could be itch.io. If you have trouble making an account on The Daily Click please email josh@kliktopia.org or contact Joshtek on Discord.

Please make it clear whether the graphics and other assets were made by you specifically for this game, by you previously, and/or if they are third party assets (and give credit as appropriate). Use of AI-generated content is not allowed.

You can submit bug fixes afterwards, but it is possible the game will be reviewed based on the version as originally submitted.

There is to be only one developer. If you have others helping you with testing or providing graphics/music then this should be made clear. You can post demos online for feedback.

Only one entry per person.

Please keep an eye on The Daily Click for any rules clarifications/tweaks.
