Well, this isn't quite what I was aiming for, but it's the best I've been able to accomplish in terms of everything working as it should.

It's quite good though in concept, I might add a ladder later on.

The plain fact is that None of the old school beatemup games that I know of have ever had platforms other than against the back wall.

So, basically, this almost about as good as platforms ever were in beatemups, so it's fairly good for those. I still have no idea how to get the visual layers to work properly in a full-on 2.5d platformer though.

You'll notice that if you move one of the platforms to a different y value than the other, it will not function totally proper, this is because some of the more advanced things that were put in the last example, I just didn't bother with yet in this one.

Check this out!

yeah that seems to work pretty well, although you can do a super moon jump when jumping onto the platform at the back which just doesn't look right lol.

Yes well, this one here is just a backwall platform.

I'm still trying to make a real fully functional from all sides one with visual layers and all that good stuff, but it is much more difficult than you think.

Check back once in awhile though, I'll keep working at it.
I've got at least 40 different files for this project probably more, and 10 or more unique attempts alone.

I keep starting over because it is simpler than understanding what I coded (I'll comment the code once I get something I'm happy with), and each time I do things slightly different, so with any luck I'll stumble upon a nice method that will actually work without TGF limitations ruining it.
