There will be several more wall jumps that I'm going to add, but for now I have the 0 speed wall jump done.
It's basically a jump off and away from the wall.
I wasn't sure how to animate a flip, so I'll leave that for when I tackle wall running. I did add in a unique wall jump animation though, but I haven't bothered to detail it much. I'll have to rough sketch the animations if I can't get an artist soon. It takes me too long to sprite and animate. I'm much faster at coding than spriting.
That reminds me ... Is there anyone out there good at animating? ... If someone could alter my characters' running sequence so that it has an angled view leaning away from the wall (head closer to us than feet) ...
that'd be nice if someone would do that for me. I'll give you your choice of DC points or a trophy for helping. It has to look at least as good as the animations that I have made so far. (that should be easy enough). I'm going to need a leaning running animation for when I get to wall running.
If noone helps me, that just means the engine will take longer. I'm sure you all would like to see this thing finished and a few games made with it, wouldn't you?
Once I'm done with this engine, I plan to make a few simple beatemup games with it and then after that I intend to re-design the code to make everything more efficient with easier alterability.
I really need an artist. Would any artist out there like to join my project? ... I'm coding well enough, so I don't need help coding at all, but creating the animated sprites and coding both really eats up my time.
If you do a good job and get things done at a tolerable pace, I offer 500 DC points. You don't have to worry about style either, because if you wanted a different style you could just re-do the animations I have so far to fit with your style. I'm flexible that way.
Plus, I'm doing all the coding, so you don't have to worry about that. Are there any artists that need a decent klik coder? I could offer my coding skills for your project in exchange for your artistry talents for my project.
