Currently the game is in the phase where the core game engine is pretty much ready, meaning like movements, collision detections, drawing the terrain, interaction with objects (pick up, change place), finding food & eating, starting a quest and solving it, saving and loading the game etc.
Many features are yet to be implemented, but the core is there and it's working pretty nicely. You can move the character with either keyboard or mouse, explore different areas of the whole island and interact with the environment in many different ways. You can combine woods and palm leaves to build up a shelter, which is used for resting, healing, sleeping and storing items/food, or combine a few woods to make a fireplace and with a match to set a fire to it. If you find a rod of some kind, you may try your fishing luck in any location you wish. Every location has a special set of fish available, different species, different sizes and nutritional values. On a fireplace, you can roast the fish and increase its nutritional value. If you don't like fish, it's possible to crush some crabs (yum!) or shoot a bird down from the sky.
One of the goals for the game engine is to allow dynamic gameplay and avoid too structured content. And I think it will be accomplished, at least it looks good so far.
