I've got a single-player-demo-beta type thingy all polished and ready to be uploaded! I'll find some good webspace and upload it while I'm writing this. Then I'll submit it to the Downloads section... and then we play the waiting game.
It's had the Multiplayer, Duel, Lame Survival and Two Player sections removed, and most of the sounds and music have been either removed or reformatted and compressed down as much as I can, without making them sound like garbled mush. I managed to drop the filesize down to about 73MB compressed with WinRAR, so that's about half of what it was. It's still a pretty hefty file, though. Sorry about that, but there's not much else I can remove without ruining part of the game.
In my defence, I think it's quite worth the download, as it does have a fair amount of features which just keep unlocking as you play the game. It has most of the Single Player functions:
The Single Player game mode (soon to be renamed "Quadrillion Mode"),
All of the currently available Challenges,
The Intergalactic Mall,
All of the unlockable items,
Most of the Achievements.
There are still some things in there that I'm gonna change (or try and change) at some point, such as the theme music. I've become really attached to the main theme, because it sounds awesome and works well... but that's already the theme of an indie game called Cortex Command. I don't really want to use their theme music, because A) I think it's REALLY wrong and unfair, and B) Their game is much better than mine, anyway. I've credited the game in the Credits screen for now, but I've gotta find some different theme music quite soon.
Anyway... I'm submitting it to the Downloads section now. Keep an eye out for it, and let me know what you think if you try it!
Any crazy/unique/cool/random ideas will also be welcomed, too - this game can be expanded in so many more ways.
PS: If you've arrived here from the download page, and you liked the game, feel free to give me a favourite! That little number is a lot of encouragement for me.
