i've contacted our lead guitarist/album producer, and although he's out of town, he'll be back in next week. upon his return he'll send the backing tracks along. so it appears as though the game won't be released by halloween after all.
in the meantime, i've been polishing little things here and there in the game: making sure the player earns extra lives; additional graphics for when the player collides with a zombie when they're not powered-up; updating the graphics for the beers (which now look like a properly fizzy lager); a working title screen; properly restarting the game after ending...things like that.
after this weekend, i will purchase and implement the flash app maker. the game really doesn't have much of a purpose if it's not flash enabled (despite my own personal sense of accomplishment, of course). i'm sure the game will have much more exposure and play once i post it on a handful of websites afterward.
if anyone has feedback on the current engine (which hasn't changed much since my last release, barring a handful of bug fixes), please leave a comment.
