Pretty big hurdle, and one that has pushed the project to a 100% complete demo build!
The game can now be played with either FPS-style keyboard+mouse (with both WASD and Arrow key setups) or with the Xbox 360 wired controller (or perhaps similar dual-analog joypad - untested).
This demo has come a long way. The development process has been... quite insane... and I'm surprised (and extremely glad) that I stuck through it. 3 years of constant scrapping and rebuilding and artwork revisions... all for a 5 minute demo! Still, I'm ecstatic with the way it has turned out. There was a point where I just didn't think the gameplay would work, but it really is a blast now.
A word to anyone working on any project: Make sure you know how you want your game to go before you put months into it! Prototype as much as possible and find out how the game plays best before you build any complex systems around it. Never get too far ahead of yourself. Set a maximum and realistic standard and stick to it.
