Squad Tactics Mode Terrain types

We are about finished with Tilesets for different terrains on the Squad Tactics mode of the game, And I thought I would share some screenies of it, I would love to hear comments on them. Currently in the snow levels it will, yes, Snow, I have yet to decide if it should rain in the swamp levels, what do you think..

During research you will be able to unlock a tranquilizer gun which enable you to during tactics battles to instead of kill a grey sedate him, if successful you will unlock a new mini game by Sam Dillard where you can attempt to intercept and decrypt alien PSI communications, More to come on that one...

Still looking for some good testers who would work for a free game at the end of the testing period! Leave a comment if interested

wow. you've been working on this for ages!

It looks very impressive, but the inconsistent perspective still really bothers me.
The aliens, cliffs, and snow covered trees are viewed at an angle, while the spaceship and other trees are viewed top-down. It looks kind of weird.

And are those cliff gfx ripped? They look familiar...

Still, sure it'll be a really good game

the Cliffs are from a GFX's Library, Some of the trees are from A reiner Tileset, the rest is hand drawn by Ian or Myself...

Any suggestions on how to correct the UFO prespective?

I agree that the perspectives are a bit off on some of the trees and the UFO.

In that image (incur34.gif), notice how you barely see the roots, as if it was top viewed. Now compare that with the characters that are clearly viewed from the side. I like it this one: http://www.gamesare.com/games/incur/incur35.gif

To make the UFO look like it's viewed from the side, add windows and machinery details on the side of the ship, highlight the walls with a darker color to give shadows. Here, I made a quick sketch in paint: <A http://beagle.hihm.no/105857/skrot/UFO.PNG

I added some light. Maybe they can be switched on during night missions
