FLASH
Posted 9th Jan 13, by butterfingers
So yesterday I got my hands on the Flash compiler for MMF2 and tried to get HACK running in a browser.

Other than all of the sounds needing re-doing (no "play from file" available in Flash), it was super easy to do, and got the Flash version working in 2 hours.

you can check it out at:

It reminds me a lot of the fight animations in Settlers II. eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFv_-LtheKE
Not sure I see any element of skill though...

LOL.

There isn't really any skill in the 1 player. Although the 2 player I think is more compelling.

It's worth noting that BLOCK will always protect you from ANY attack.

You can also PARRY, by doing the same move as your enemy. PARRY gives you a faster recovery and gives you the advantage, but you have to learn what the moves look like.

So yes, initially there is little skill required.

As you play more though you can learn how to win more reliably.

If you're willing to go the extra mile on this, come up with an online scoreboard, multiplayer capability...and random taunts that players can make to earn bragging rights or flair points or something.

It's an abstraction of all the trash-talking that multiplayer games have...I guess.
