Score Uploads
Posted 8th Dec 08, by DS Strider
While far from complete, I've made some tremendous progress with this system. If you haven't already figured this out, you will be able to upload scores, time spent playing the game, damage taken, enemies killed, modes cleared, challenges cleared, etc. to the MMPC website (coming soon).

Here's how the system will work:

When you first run the program, the game will run you through a registration setup (provided that you have an internet connection). This will allow you to pick a username to be entered into the database. The database will also send a code to the game itself which will help identify the user whenever he/she updates her score data (The user does not get to pick this code, it is automatically generated with the registration process).

Uploading scores can be done only on cleared saved data. (The demo will automatically save your highest scores, but you must complete either Classic or Modern modes to unlock the ability to upload). Once the ability is unlocked, you can upload your scores at any time in the Options screen. Again, an internet connection is required.

Once you've uploaded your scores for the first time, you can go to the MMPC website and see where you rank globally. This system will save all score uploaded, rather than overwriting previous uploads. So you can keep a detailed records of how well you've played the game.

Aside from scores, the system also keeps a universal records of how many enemies have been killed, how many lives lost, how many continues used, how much damage taken, time spent within stages, and how many of the 50-100 challenges have been completed. (NOTE: Challenges will not be available in the demo version).

I'll post screenshots of the upload process once the system's been debugged.
