well, first of don has sent some new sprites my way and im in the process of working them into the game, which is going much better than i had expected. the new sprites forced me to take up a new movement system for the zombies which looks so cool with the nifty animations hes passed over. the new headshots look very nice and not as stiff as my 4 frame animations. the doors are posing a problem now and are causing me to re-work them. the zombies can break down the doors fine (and look cool doing it) but the system is entirely too inefficiant and specific, especially since we plan to revamp the house, possibly adding the need for more doors.

i deleted a bunch of overlays, one set (which was set in the background behind the trees) i got into my head (finally) that it was totally unessary and dumb, because if i wanted it to be darker, i might start by drawing the background darker (duuuuuuuuuuuh). and with that fact, the frame rate is vastly improved.

in case you didnt notice, i took the time to redo the intro page for the project! yaay! it givees a much better look into the actual progress of the project, as well as identifies the goals that i currently have for myself and my team. also, everytime i update it, i will post which ones went up or down, so COOLIOS!

in case you aslo didnt notice, ive been batting the idea back and fourth, and i think that this game is no longer going to be freeware. but dont worry, the demo version for you freeloaders is tottaly going to have almost every feature available, minus the fun stuff (lolz, jk) it just wont be as "full" as the full version, hence why it aint the full version. i figured, hell, im pouring my blood and sweat into this project, im taking every step to make sure it is going to be fun, professional and badd freakin ass, so why the hell shouldnt i at least attempt to make something from it? other than that i have a kick ass marketting strategy that will ensure i at least get the name out there, and pave the way for future projects.

also i am more than willing to take on a few more project memebers, i am mainly looking for another spriter to help don out, but since his style totally fits with my vision, youd have make sure you dont step on him and pay mind to what hes doing and how he does it. i am also looking for an expirienced coder, not to code my game, but to be around as a consultant and a "proof reader" if you will, and also someone who has an idea on how to make the engine as efficiant as possible, keeping it at a steady framerate while handling a fairly decent capped population of zombies.

but most of all i still enjoy hearing from all the fans of this project and listening to their input (provided they arent "omgz chloe, don sell it ur dumb, cow cow cow" ive made up my mind, dont mention it unless you actually have something worthwhile to mention about it) but keep the critiquing comming, it brings a smile to my face everytime and keeps me motivated!

Definitely worth the money, says I! Putting your entire will into this... visibly, it's a passion project. Just ask yourself, "Am I sweating for nothing?" In all regards- I for one would not call this just freeware.
However I think you're overworking yourself- it CAN be dangerous (Take the almost Sonic Xtreme for example, lol.) Maybe treat yourself to a break for a while?

I reccommend porting this over to xna once your finished. I'd try wiiware as well, but this mite be a bit, um, wait nvm. (Was gonna say violent, but, there's violent games there already, hm.)

First finish it, second think about selling! once it is close to a final product.

And keep in mind companies don't like violent games, look up at Reflexive, Bigfish & Co you will find the usual "omg find another 300 hidden objects - part 56" puzzler or "cake or nanny buildup whatever" crap.

Rarely you will find a decent RPG, Strategy or Action game :/

@werewoof - i took a vacation to paris island in sc, my friend got married to a marine there, does that count as a break? besides, i dont need a break, ive got METH (jk lolz)

@Xhunterko - i would love to port it over to either of those, but id much rather work on next step version or one of the other hundreds of project ideas ive got written out in files. but still, eh, i guess i might be able to give it a shot. i messed around with xna a bit, but only as far as the intro tutorial.

@maVado - oh yeah, ill definatly make the call once it gets closer to being released, but as of right now, im going in with all something something. i really dont care about game companies anymore, i got so excited i called up a local company, and the hr lady pissed me off to no end calling me "unprofessional" saying "you dont know what you are doing", and she gathered all this from a 2 minute conversation where all i asked was if they offered any kind of internships, or who i would send a resume and portfolio to (and of cource they didnt accept portfolios for game designers, they only wanted to know if i went to school or not) so fuck that, i dont want anything to do with any corporate bullshit company. i look at what im doing here as an art, and all they seem to do is tarnish the art of video games by releasing the same dumb fucking games over and over again (same concept, different title and characters and ZOMDBG IMPROVED GFX GUISWE). at the same time, i dont want to be someone like matt dickie (he used to be a hero to me untill i realised how selfish and self centered, and how full of himself he actually is and quit because he blames the fact that he makes the same crappy game over and over again on the fact that 10 people bootlegged it[problably because they DIDNT WANT TO PAY FOR THE SAME GAME AGAIN]). i know who my target audience is and i know exactly how im going to present it to them, so no, i dont need them, i need me and whoever wants to help me, and i can tell you anyone who wants to join me will not only be rewarded, but take pride in the fact that some douchebag isnt going to cut down there ideas because some dumbass soccermom 1000 miles away buys their fucked up babysat by a tv dilinquient kid "kill 5000 babies arena" and he shoots a homedog for getting all up in his grill and blames you for expressing your creative art.

please take note i didnt direct this at you, i just felt like ranting and raving about whatever, and i just got done watching the obama deception, lol. great flick, you guys should all check it out. i really start to get a foul mouth when im tired, sorry guys.

You should definitely sell this, I really liked what I played.

When did you play it?

I always encourage people who are working on good projects to sell their stuff if they can. That makes it easier for those who want to sell their stuff to do so as well. (So they don't feel like oddballs going against the crowd.)

I'm really looking forward to this game, Chloecakes!
