Status Update: Third Dungeon

Time for a quick update.

I've been collaborating with one of my beta testers (who is also an avid user of GarageBand, a music composition software for Mac) on revamping the soundtrack, and I must say that it's going very nicely. Some of her mixes are really fantastic, and I wouldn't mind including them alongside my own personal revamps of the soundtrack.

There's really only one downside to improving the music this way. At the present time, the soundtrack makes up a staggering 62 megabytes of the game's file size, and I predict that the download in its entirely will hover around the area of 70-80 megs. The music files will also be in OGG format, so if anybody knows of a way to compress OGG files without any noticeable loss in quality, it would be very helpful.

Either way, the soundtrack is easily one of my favorite parts of the game now, and I hope everyone enjoys all of the new and updated tunes once I'm ready for my first public release.

In addition to working on the music, I've also been making great progress on the third dungeon. It's going to be divided into two parts. The first part has very few monsters and revolves mostly around dodging traps. The second part puts heavier focus on combat and won't be accessible until you leave the dungeon for a while and do a few plot-related things back in the outside world.

I've got most of the traps, puzzles, and monsters built and scripted. I'm still scratching my head in a few spots, since I've built myself into a few dead ends in the dungeon's layout, but I don't think it will be an issue for very long. At least I hope not. The hardest parts for me are probably going to be graphic-based, especially with the dungeon's boss and the cinematic cutscene that follows its completion.

I may post screenshots soon, but I gotta be careful about spoilers. x3
