Fangame: The Break
Posted 20th Oct 09, by vertigoelectric
Most of you don't know this, but I've actually been dealing with severe depression for some time. For the most part, I have kept it under some kind of control, and at least kept it hidden from certain areas of my life. However it is beginning to seep through the cracks and rear its ugly head in areas of my life it shouldn't show, such as my workplace.

I've been using Fangame, in part, as a way to escape the world I live in and just let everything else fade away while I indulge in the programming and design of the game.

It's time I stop sweeping the dust under the rug and consider vacuuming. (that's a metaphor, by the way).

Until I get my life and well-being back on track, both psychologically and spiritually, I am going to take a break from the full-force Fangame development I have been diligently pushing at for so long. That being said, there won't be much updating for a while.

Occasionally, I'll open up the project if I'm feeling especially inspired or bored, but for the most part I will try to avoid working on it for a while. I know this may seem disappointing to many of you, but my personal well-being is far more important. I will pick Fangame up again later.

In the meantime, I'll be focusing a bit more attention on my personal blog, which you are welcome and encouraged to follow. It is a good outlet for me and knowing I have readers encourages me to keep posting. Please come read, and please leave comments. It is here: http://vertigoelectric.wordpress.com

I'll still keep an eye on the forums and stuff.

That's all i have to say for now.

Sorry to hear about your personal demons mate, hope you get on top of it sooner rather than later! And you're right, your personal well-being is more important than gaming, so good luck and hope to see you back here soon!

Hope you can overcome it

Thanks. I'd say it's more a matter of "when", not "if".
