Nice to be back!
Posted 1st Jun 10, by Windybeard Games
Firstly its nice to be back. Some people may remember my last project "The Dreamweaver" that i banished to the realms of the forgotten over a year ago now. well the overwhelming demands on my time have begun to subside (apart from my up and coming wedding in 4 weeks!) allowing me to venture back to game making.
Its nice to be back and see an almost brand new Daily click has emerged since! also nice to see some of the old faces still knocking about.

Well i had some free time on my hands one night so i decided to whip out the old mega drive and play my favorite game Wonderboy in monster world and it got me thinking, i thought to myself i could do somthing like this, and sure enough i booted up the MMF exe tucked away in the dusty memory of my computer and began working on "Scratch".

Its coming along nicely, The entire engine is almost built and im justing finishing up the save load stuff. Im really quite exicited as this will give me an excellent platform (no pun intended) to work on my Sprites and animation as this is my area of skill, ive managed to fumble my way through a solid engine that plays smooth and well and ive suprised myself with what i have accomplished code wise.

Anyways enough babble, just thought i let you know where im at. Nice to be back and hope to speak to you all over the coming future.

oh and heres a little taste of what the games gonna look like, its just the engine test screen so it will be much better when i actually start work in the Sprites!

Comments appreciated!

I remember the Dreamweaver. I like the whole regeant collection to pass barriers thing it had going on. The power meter was a cool addition too and helped ease the tedium of 1 vs 1 turn-based grinding that plagues a lot of games like that.

I don't think I ever played Wonderboy before but I did play Alex Kidd in Miracle World (If it's anything like it, this'll be great!)
