Fan dabby doozy

Managed to squeeze out even more efficiency. I've managed to shave off another 1mb of system memory and reduced the frequency of slowdown on my test frame.

Working on the new chapter now, specifically the linear introduction to the chapter before the big exploration bit kicks in. Also working on 2 mofo bosses (up to 5). All's swell!

Isn't it some kind of horrible pain to update the code in all those frames?

Posted by Dr. James MD 25th June, 2008

Yes! Yes it is.

I thought it was painful enough copying code in 11 frames >_<

It's pretty easy when it's all in one Big Group™. Probably takes about 2-3 minutes but its worth it for the freedom you get back from hardcoding some frames.

You managed to shave 1MB off..... woo?

Posted by Dr. James MD 27th June, 2008

off the Ram yea Some frames go as low as 26mb. It's all good... somehow. I'm making up for the inefficient Sam engine

So is this game freeware?

Posted by alastair john jack 27th June, 2008

Pretty sure its not.

Will you put this in IGF?

Posted by Dr. James MD 5th July, 2008

Maybe, if I get a lot more done on it. It's not exactly how I want it just yet.

Not freeware, eh...? *cries*
Oh well, who knows what the future may hold? If I could pay for this when it is released, I may do. Looking back at some of your earliest work, it's hard to believe that this is even made by the same creator! This look like it could finally knock Cave Story from its place.

Aww I was hoping to see another update

Awww... c'mon James! If you're gonna bump everyone elses projects off the top spot at least post an update!

Awww... updates!

"This look like it could finally knock Cave Story from its place. "

That would only happen if Tormishire were to be freeware.
