A little bit more
Posted 16th Aug 08, by Dr. James MD
Just a bit of an update.

-Finished adding 1 new zone (still need to work on the actual side mission bit for it).
-Working on a brand new area in a pretty surreal environment. Got sick of working on tunnels and caves and stuff.
-Also just finished a likkle boss. Spent about 30 hours straight working on this one and it's probably the best thing I've ever coded Also dislike how I can seemingly make snazzy boss graphics but when it comes to humanish characters I'm stumped. Ah well!

We're at about 30% completion now. Should have this done by Christmas.

you're going to make 60% of the game within the next 4 to 5 months?
Judging by the size of it thats going to be a hell of a lot of work.

The graphics are looking eben hotter than they use to as well.

I can't judge the completion amount. It's probably more likely 60% done if you take into engine and music. That 30% is the amount of the world map made.

Hmm, well it took you sometime to make the engine... and then remake it again... and again.

The rest should be a breeze.

I've done too much work with the current engine to have to edit bosses and levels to cope with new engine stuffs. No more remaking!

Yeah, now i think about it, it's hard to judge how complete a game is. Especially if you're like me and you just keep adding stuff until you're fed up with the sight of it.

30....
hours...
..........

That's only if you're mental and want to hunt around for secrets and sidequests. In terms of scope I'm trying to blow everything else 2D out of the water.
That said I've got 25 hours racked up on Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows and that's not even an exploration-y game.

Yep.

If you make this better than Super Metroid then you are a GOD!
