Wow, this looks really awesome, and I like the idea about 2 swords tied together with a chain, it sounds really nice. Hopefully you do finish this game, and it comes out with solid game play, and nice graphics, that intro really got me pumped for it

How did you get the fake 3D? It looks very very smooth!
The fake 3d is a combination of the scaling function and having different diretions of the platform objects represent different angles, and putting these together with a really ugly formula. It runs smooth under the right circumstances...

Hey man, you might want to check out the voxel engine in my Downloads if you find that the 3d part starts bogging systems down. It doesn't use the scaling which makes it really, really fast.
You want motivation? Well all i can say is "keep going man, i am in awe of your 3D skills and think this is looking to be the most promising platformer i've ever seen made by a klicker!" Woooo!
Yeah, this looks really REALLY nice. If you ever need beta tester or something, I would LOVE to do it.

Captain, hmm well, depends on what you mean with a standard platformer. It is going to be a little Prince of Persia adventuring (although Cate can move much more freely and unrealistic than the player could in those games), and a little fast-paced action battle with lots of effects (Comix Zone plus special attacks and magic). I'll try to intregate the story into the gameplay, so that it feels much like a rpg... I'm planning to have voiceacting too.
Well, it will not be like 8-16bit Sonic or Mario.

Captain, well if you put it that way...
I guess it will be a standard platformer, except that I'm aiming towards making battles so fun that you don't want to avoid the baddies. Rahter than going from a to b you can move more freely, like from a to any other point in the game, including places where you have already been.
