This sounds like it could be an awesome idea.
So its like MMF, but with an option to add your own code too?
Just wondering, I was a little confused.
Either way, good luck with your project!

Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.

Exactly, except at least for now it won't have a level and object editor like in MMF, everything is code based.

Anything else you don't understand feel free to ask

Oh and thanks !

Yeah, but I for one would just learn a traditional programming language. Such as C#. And I, specifically, like XNA Game Studio.

Well it's based on Lua and which you can call it a traditional programming language, so most of the principles also apply on C#, C++, Java etc...
The diference is, it's less complicated so it's a good way of starting with programming. Personally I don't know anyone who started off with C++ or C# and started making games right away. Plus one of the few things that bluemoon lacks in comparison with xna game studio is that you can develop for the xbox 360, which is useless for most people because microsoft doesn't allow everyone to develop for their console, as far as I know you need to be a licensed developer to publish anything on the xbox 360 (including xbox live arcade).

Nope. All you need to do is pay microsoft a ridiculous amount of money to join the XNA creators club! And you can also develop for PC and use 3D models in XNA. Lua is scripts. I prefer MMF2, but I might one day want to pay maybe 200 dollars to develop for the Xbox 360. You can also develop for Zune in XNA 3.

mmh didn't know about that, but still remember the xbox is a market for commercial games only, so to publish them you'll have to go through a good lot of paperwork (when setting up your company) and pay taxes. I might be mistaken as I don't know the US law that well, but as far as I know you have to report every profit you make to the state you live in or your business will be deemed illegal and you'll be risking a few years in jail.
Also remember the xbox 360 has been around for 4 years now and the life expectancy of a console is about 5 years (the last xbox having only lasted 4 years) and nobody really knows how things will be after Microsoft releases a new console.

Oh and another thing, Lua isn't just scripts, it's a programming language originally conceived as a scripting language but works pretty much like basic, c++ or any other standard programming language.

Why not just C# or C++? Why Lua?

C++ or C# would scare away most beginners to programming, and since Lua is just as powerfull when it comes to game development why shouldn't I use it ?
