Hey! Dude, relax. I downloaded the zip and extracted it with no problem. I dunno what you where worried about. However, I have been try to finish the first level the past twenty minutes or so. I've been taking notes. So here are my thoughts:
Points
Music is nice, sounds are nice. Black out effect(i can never spell sillouette correctly ) adds + background = good atmosphere. Did I mention the tasty art? The sound proximity on the grating door is nice as well. Should try that with other loud noises. Like maybe a one screen warning when large objects are making noises nearby. Could be very nice game.
Okay, bad:
I was jumping up and got stuck on left edge of a platform! I had to space bar jump to get out. I think I know what it is. Try and wall slide and you'll get stuck like I did. Speaking of, why can't I space bar jump past screens? Let me do so please? It'll make travel faster. Check the collisions on the tiny, moving platforms. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to
not jump on them and died. Which was okay. Lesson learned. However, after I met up with another one, I thought I was clear, got up, and then got decapitated. Might want to add the "control key" indicator at the black ladder. I also got paused at a couple places. Maybe consider arrow indicators with an option to turn them off.
I didn't know I could climb it until I tried hitting buttons. You know where you toss the rock to the lever to get the extension to pop out? I didn't know that black section below it was not a platform and died a couple times. Your animation needs work as well. I found the movement to be a bit too slow for this kind of platformer. Maybe speed it up by half? About the animation. If for instance, I am crouching. If I hit any other command, the animation will play briefly before going back to crouch. Try to have the push lever animation a work over. Right now, it looks, odd. Waaay to easy to die. I get somewhere, and then slice, chunk, pish, I'm dead. Might want to consider more checkpoints. It crashed on me at the first push lever gate for some reason. Will try again. Also, let me make the cut scenes go faster or skip all together. Some people have short attention spans and sadly don't like to mess with story.

Okay, after the half dozen death at the three crushers I think it's time for a break. Also, at the collapsing floor. Do I have enough time to jump off one of them before they fall? I'm not sure if I do. Keep working on this though.

As I wrote above my programming skills are not the top, but I hope to resolve some of the major flaws for the full game.
However, there's not a lot of atcion in the game and I don't think the control-collision problems affects gameplay too.
I'm glad you liked graphics and atmosphere, this is the aspects that I focused more (with level design and puzzles).
Regarding the cut scenes... there's only one in the entire demo and is sixteen seconds long
"But... the "All platforming problems can be mostly solved here (links)" text was your signature?? whoops! Sorry, I had misunderstood your first post..."
I know right? They had a line to sperate it, but either it doesn't show up for some reason or they tossed it out in the new format. Personally I don't like it. I need to change that sig too. Hmm.
"As I wrote above my programming skills are not the top"
Still though, there are some free engines on this site so look around. This beauty deserves a better engine. I mean, seriously.
"Regarding the cut scenes... there's only one in the entire demo and is sixteen seconds long."
Yeah, I know. I was also thinking about how some easily bored people would react to it.
