Right, A6 and A7 are katanas. The list of melee weapons goes on to B3, where we have the Sword Of Glory, which is one of the most powerful weapons in Zombie Smasherz.
Each weapon has different advantages and downsides, one will be effective against a certain enemy, while it'll be almost useless against another.
Weapons are defined by various attributes, such as
-Firing Speed & Cooldown (the time between two consecutive shots)
-Base Damage
-AP Chance (Some weapons have armor penetrating capabilities, this determines bonus damage and the chance of the bullet to penetrate its target. Most enemies in ZS have an armor class, this value is important while fighting against monsters with a high armor class)
-Clip Size
-Reload Time
-Damage Type (Melee, Bullet, Energy, Heat, Explosion, ...)
-Blast Radius
Hints for the weapon chart:
-The weapon in E7 has the widest blast radius in the entire game, and it's among the most expensive fire arms. It's heavily inspired by a similar weapon in an ancient first person shooter called "Blood 2: The Chosen".
-A4, A7, C2, C6, C8 and D4 are akimbo versions of the corresponding single weapons. John Woo style.
-D2 is another tribute, this weapon occured in the Duke Nukem 3D successor Shadow Warrior, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1995 movie Eraser and is also a popular gun in the Quake series.
-E8 was used in WW I to take out the first british tanks. Now it's ready to pack quite a punch towards undead rank and file.
